Udupi, March 15: The media has failed to cover the genuine cause and the fact of real happenings in Egypt and the Middle East. The news you are reading in the newspaper is not a fact. You have to keep your sixth sense open said Bhatkal Anjuman Arts and College Professor Abdul Gafoor Savnoor addressing a community meeting organised by Jama'at-e-Islami Hind, Udupi Dist unit to discuss on the developments of Middle East and the Islamic movement at Tonse Adarsha Auditorium.

He pointed out the editorial article published in the English daily 'The Hindu' which says the Indian media is completely ignorant about the real happenings in the Middle East and we are completely depending upon the news of western media.

“No one knows who is behind Egypt's peaceful and extraordinary political changes, and this matter is restricted to facebook and twitter only” he said.

Western countries reacted with surprise to see the political changes and the establishment of democracy in Egypt. Let the people of Egypt show the world the real meaning of democracy he said.

Muslim Authors Association President Syed Ismail addressing the meeting said, reserve small space for your enemy in your heart. Open your heart and ask him about his welfare. Supplying food grains to the drought hit people of neighbouring enemy country shows our courtesy and humanity. This is how our Holy Prophet Mohamed (pbuh) taught us how to behave with our enemies. All are equal and we are all brothers. Colour, country, language and community are only to identify the people he said. God fear is the best sign of good human being.

He stated that 'as many as 17 MLAs resigned to make me Chief Minister and now their community people want their leader to become Minister, it is very difficult to satisfy all of them'.

Kasaragod, Feb 17: A Kerala Muslim couple conducted the wedding of their Hindu foster daughter at a Bhagavathi temple in Kerala, scripting another tale of communal harmony at Kasaragod.

The wedding ceremony was held on Sunday.

The woman Rajeshwari tied the knot with Vishnu Prasad in the presence of family and friends belonging to both Hindu and Muslim communities.

Abdulla and Khadeeja adopted Rajeshwari after her father who worked at Abdulla's farm died. Rajeshwari's mother also passed away when she was a child.

Rajeshwari grew up alongside Abdulla and Khadeeja's three sons- Shameem, Najeeb and Shereef.

Earlier in January this year, cutting across the lines of religion, a mosque in Kerala's Kayamkulam hosted a Hindu marriage ceremony.
