Tulu Koota Kuwait to donate kidney dialysis units to Adarsha, SCS hospitals

March 20, 2011
Mangalore, March 20: Tulukoota Kuwait in association with Aadarsha hospital Udupi is holding the "Tulukoota Kuwait Kidney Dialysis Project".

A recent survey has indicated that less than 10% of the total patients requiring dialysis in India are able to avail the facility. Hemodialysis treatment is very expensive. The medicines are equally costly and a majority of the patients are not able to afford this treatment. Adding to the problem, health insurance policies do not cover the cost of dialysis owing to the high cost.

As part of Tulukoota Kuwait Kidney Dialysis Project, the Koota has decided to donate a kidney dialysis unit to Adarsha hospital Udupi, the formal programme for which would be held on Friday, March 25, at the hospital.

Similarly the Koota has decided to donate two kidney dialysis units and RO Plant to SCS Hospital Mangalore where BPL (below poverty line) patients & lower income group patients will be entitled to receive free/discounted kidney dialysis. The formal programme with regard to this will be held on Sunday, March 27 at the hospital.
