Yellow Pages 2011 edition released in city

Mangalore, June 30: OneCity Media Pvt. Ltd, the publisher of Yellow Pages directories released its 2011 edition at Mangalore Press, here on Thursday.

G G Mohandas Prabhu, President, Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry released the fifth edition of Yellow Pages for Mangalore and Udupi districts.

While speaking about the new edition, S A Bashir, Director, OneCity Media Pvt. Ltd said that “this edition of Yellow Pages is one of International quality and incorporates several user friendly features like multi color yellow pages incorporating dine, entertainment, leisure information, tourist needs, education etc”. It also contains a user friendly fast index to locate any product or service”.

He also said that directories will be distributed to entire business community in Mangalore, Udupi, Puttur and some parts of Kasargod free of cost.

On the occasion, P B Harish Rai, President, Dakshina Kannada Working Journalist Union OneCity Media also released the updated version of their website www.mangaloreyellowpages.com, which enables consumers to access information on Mangalore and Udupi cities in no time.

OneCity Media, Director L K Monu Borkala, Sales Manager Praveenraj and Madhvi Salian were present on the occasion.

Udupi, Jun 1: As many as 73 people have been tested positive for coronavirus in Udupi district today.

The district has registered a total of 260 positive cases so far. Majority of the positive cases in Udupi district have inter-state travel history to Maharashtra.

Bengaluru, Mar 11: With the outbreak of coronavirus, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Tuesday said that over 1,000 people in the state have been identified for observation.

"So far, 1048 people have been identified for observation. Out of which 446 samples have been sent for testing. 389 samples have tested negative. Four samples have tested positive," Chief Minister Yediyurappa told reporters.

Earlier today, Health Minister B Sriramulu said that family members of those who tested positive for COVID-19 have been isolated and their health is being monitored.

Mar 11: The Karnataka government on Wednesday started a campaign called 'Namaste over Handshake' that encourages people to greet in the traditional Indian style, to tackle the spread of coronavirus.

The campaign also includes health advice on how people can protect themselves from the infection by adopting hygiene practices such as regularly washing hands to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

As part of the campaign, the state health and family welfare department has uploaded a poster on the social media, featuring a 'Bharatnatyam' dancer draped in a red saree saying 'Namaste'.

"Use Namasthe to greet others, fight against corona" read a message on the poster online.

The poster has health helpline numbers (104 and 011- 23978046) for public queries on the viral disease, which has claimed 4,251 lives worldwide.

A health department official told PTI that as part of the campaign, posters have been uploaded on social media and it would be printed and despatched to different districts to be put up at important junctions.

"We had been working on this idea. Kerala has already done it. They are using Kathakali dancers whereas we are using a Bharatanatyam dancer as our model," the official said.

Medical Education Minister K Sudhakar too had insisted that people should adopt 'Namasthe' or 'Namaskara' to greet people instead of handshakes or hugs.
