
Mangalore, July 9: As the repeated requests to regularise the services of 126 daily wagers working in health section of Mangalore City Corporation fell on deaf ears of concerned authorities, the DK Zilla Pourakarmikara Hagu Nalkkane Darje Naukarara Sangha has decided to take out a semi-nude procession on July 20.
Revealing this to media persons here Honorary President of Sangha Shivappa said that paura karmikas have been appealing the state government since ten years. But no measures have taken till now, he said.
“We had also staged a 'begging protest' in front of MCC on February 26, this year, to draw the attention of government as well as Urban Development Minister, but, in vain,” he lamented and added that karmikas have also submitted memorandum to Deputy Speaker of State Assembly N Yogish Bhat and District In-charge Minister Krishna J Palemar.
The semi-nude procession will start from Light House Hill Road and culminate at MCC office with a stopover at the DCs office to submit memorandum to the DC.
Mangaluru, Jan 11: Reacting to the recent video clippings provided to the media by former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy in connection with the December 19 unrest in Mangaluru, city Police Commissioner Dr PS Harsha on Saturday said that the video has to be seen in a proper sequence to come to a conclusion on the happenings of that day.
