New office of SVS inaugurated at Alekal

Ullal, July 17: The newly built office of Sunni Vidyarthi Sangha at Alekal near here was recently inaugurated by Mansoor Madani, the Khatheeb of Manchila Jum'a Masjid. The ribbon cutting ceremony was followed by the Maulid recitation.

Speaking on the occasion, Sa'adi Alekal called upon the gathering to lead a life, fully committed to principals and ideals of the religion of Islam.

N D Aboobakar, Director, SVS, claimed that all the programmes of his organization were model for the entire society.

U S Hamza, President, Alekal Jum'a Masjid, presided over the programme. Khubaibu Thanga, President, SVS welcomed the gathering. US Jafar, General Secretary proposed vote of thanks. The programme concluded with Du'a and Swalath presentation by Sayyid Pookoya Thangal.

V A Ismaeel, former President, Ullal Town Municipal Council, Abdussamad Ahsani, Khatheeb, Ombattukere Jum'a Masjid, Ameer, President of Al-Jazeera organization, Ahmed Bava, Khader, U D Ashraf, Mohammad Halekote were present among others.

Mangaluru, Feb 28: In a shocking incident, an engineering student has committed suicide on the railway track at the Someshwara railway station near Ullal on the outskirts of the city.

The deceased has been identified as S Rayagowda (23) from Belgaum.

It is suspected that he resorted to the extreme step due depression after love failure. Railway police are investigating the matter.

Mysuru, Mar 24:m who returned from foreign travel and flouted home quarantine guidelines has been arrested in Mysuru on Monday. 

The man, who returned from Australia, had a seal on his hand but was roaming around the city. 

According to police, he was supposed to be under home quarantine till April 6. V V Puram Police took him into custody.

Bengaluru, Apr 15: The Karnataka government on Wednesday opened a critical care support unit to monitor the progress of Coronavirus patients in Intensive Care Units (ICUs) of various designated COVID hospitals across the State.

Karnataka is the first state in the country to establish a dedicated unit for critical care support, by linking ICUs of COVID hospitals onto a single platform, Medical Education Minister Sudhakar K, who inaugurated it, was quoted as saying in a statement on Wednesday.

Its objective is to monitor COVID-19 patients in ICUs across Karnataka state so that the hospitals are prepared for the potential onslaught of the virus and thereby to achieve zero COVID mortality in Karnataka, he said, adding, it would enable capturing details of ICU COVID-19 patients in real-time
