Mangalore, July 17: The Social Democratic Party of India has strongly condemned the latest three simultaneous deadly bomb blasts in crowded Mumbai localities on Wednesday evening that took away 19 precious lives while about 131 people were injured.

Mr. Abdul Majeed Kodlipete SDPI, Karnataka State president, in a statement, while expressing deep shock over this despicable and dastardly act, has condoled the casualties of the innocents in the blast and extended heart-felt sympathies to the families of the victims and those injured. He termed it as an inhuman act and demanded harshest punishment for the perpetrators of this heinous act. Killing innocent persons is not justified and it is a barbaric act. This cold-blooded killing of innocent people, only appears to be aimed at stoking sectarian tensions in a city known for its cosmopolitan outlook, He asserted.

He cautioned that before anything is established conclusively and hard facts and clues point out to some definite conclusions the investigative agencies, political outfits and the media should restrain themselves from floating conjectures and speculations just on the basis of suspicion. Thus, the blame game should be avoided as in the past this has played havoc with the lives and career of many innocent youths.

He called upon both the Union and the state government to demonstrate an unfaltering commitment and determination to take on this menace decisively so that innocent lives may be saved. He urged the Home Ministry to conduct a thorough investigation into the blasts, and ensure that the culprits as well as those that inspired them are exposed and brought to justice. Several bomb blasts in recent years, led to innocent youth from a specific community being thrown into prison, and still struggling to secure justice, even after the real masterminds have confessed their guilt's, He pointed out.

Mr. Abdul Majeed urged the Union and the state government to rise to the occasion and fight terrorism in all of its malevolent manifestations without casting aspirations towards any caste, creed and community as a whole. Each case should be dealt on its merits and see to it that the lives and career of the innocents are not jeopardized in the process.

The 19-year-old victim filed a complaint against the two accused, following which they were nabbed. In her complaint, the victim said that the two friends persuaded her to accompany them in a party where one of them allegedly spiked her drink.

Feeling unwell, she wanted to return to her PG, but the two managed to convince her to stay back at their place, where they allegedly sexually assaulted her.

"After some time one of my friends gave me something to drink and I vomited. I felt uneasy and decided to return to my PG. However, he forced me to go to his house stating that I was not in a condition to go to my PG. He convinced me saying that I can go home in the morning. I did not suspect any foul-play as he was a friend," the victim was quoted as saying by the publication.
