S M Syed Khaleel re-elected as Prez of Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen

Bhatkal, July 22: S M Syed Khaleelur Rahman has been re-elected as the President of the prestigious Anjuman Hami-E-Muslimeen Educational Institution.

He is also the President of Galdari company, based in Dubai and also peace TV. He defeated his nearest opponent D H Shabbar, former vice president of the institute.

Abdul Rahim Zukaku is elected as the General Secretary of the institution. Mohammed Ansar Kasimji as the first Vice-President, Ismail Damoodi as the Second Vice-President, Siddiq Ismail as Additional Secretary, Ameeruddin Kola as Financial Secretary, Aboobaker Kasimji as Secretary of Anjuman Institute of Technology and MBA Board, Dr S M Sayyed Saleem as Secretary of the Board of Professional Education, Javed Hussain Armar as Secretary of PG and Degree college, Abdul Rahman Bathin as the Secretary of High school Board, Abdul Raqeeb M J as the Secretary of Nursery and Primary Schools and S M Abdul Khader as Secretary of Wakf committee were elected.

Election was held in the presence of 58 members under the presidency of Sayyed Hanas Saqaf, President of Markhazi Khalifa Jamatul Muslimeen.

Bengaluru, Jan 8: CISF personnel at Bengaluru airport on Wednesday detained two persons after they found two live bullets in their baggage during the routine inspection.

The detained person, said to be of a Mangaluru origin who arrived at the airport on Wednesday morning has claimed to be serving the American military. His mother who had arrived with him too has been taken into custody.

According to officials during the questioning, the man said that he was on a leave and that as he had hurriedly packed his belongings at the last minute there was a possibility that the bullets might have fallen into his bag mistakenly.

Bantwal, Jun 16: Two unmarred siblings committed suicide by self-immolation at Sangabettu in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada last night.

Neelayya Shettogar (42) and his sister Kesari (39) poured petrol on themselves before torching themselves at around 11 p.m. on June 15 inside a room of their house, police sources said. The siblings were reportedly facing health problems.

Neelayya's brother and latter’s wife were sleeping in the other room of the same house when the incident took place. They came to know only when they heard the screams of the duo.

Even though the siblings were rushed to the government hospital at Bantwal with the help of locals, the doctors declared them dead.

Bantwal rural police sub-inspector, Prasanna and staff visited the spot as part of investigation.

Very sad. What happening to our youths. Are they going crazy or the mountain fell on them?  Why do our people are becoming so coward? I think many are going under depression. Govt should set up rehabilitation/counselling centres in each Mandals/Taluks/Districts to treat such people.

Mysuru, Feb 6: Karnataka Health Minister B Sriramulu on Thursday said that he would consult experts in Ayurveda and other streams over coronavirus issue.

Speaking to the media here, he said that ''So far no positive case has been reported in the state''.

''However, the Health department officials have taken all precautionary measures to check the epidemic'', he further said.
