Mangalore, July 31: Some unknown miscreants broke into the Sri Rama Bhajana Mandira at Yeyyadi near Kadri and got away with valuables and cash from the hundi during the wee hours of Sunday.
According to Kadri Police, thieves broke open the lock of the main door to gain entry into the Mandir and decamped with valuables worth Rs 2.74 lakh. The theft occurred sometime between Saturday night and early Sunday, sources said.
The incident came to light when Jayaram, a member of Mandir Management Committee visited the Mandir at around 8 am.
The Mandir had been closed after chanting Bhajanas at around 8 pm, police said.
A case has been registered at Kadri police station.
