Bajrang Dal activists raid rave party near Ullal; five hospitalized

Ullal, August 14: In yet another act of moral policing, miscreants claiming to be members of a Bajrang Dal raided a rave party arranged in a farm house at Someshwar near Ullal in the wee hours of Sunday.

At least five people were injured when a scuffle broke out between two groups. All the injured are recovering at the Netaji Hospital, Thokkottu.

The incident occurred at around 3:00 am at Maharani Guest House where one Robin and his friends had organised a grand party in the pretext of birth day celebration. The guest house is owned by Suresh Jain.

According police, a group of 30 miscreants stormed into the guest house and assaulted the youngsters, most of them students, who were enjoying the party.

Unofficial sources said that ganja packets were found at the farm house where the party was going on.

By the time police and security officials reached the crime scene, the attackers had escaped. However, the police have taken a few persons into custody and seized over a dozen two-wheelers from the farm house.

Dayanand Poojari, Manager of the guest house has lodged a complaint at the Ullal Police station.

Bengaluru, Aug 6: Firebrand BJP Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya on Wednesday said that control of state power by Hindus is absolutely essential for sustenance of Dharma.

His comments, in a series of tweets, came on a day Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the Lord Ram temple at Ayodhya.

"Dear Hindus, Most important lesson is that control of State power by Hindus is absolutely essential for sustenance of Dharma. When we didn't control State, we lost our temple. When we regained, we rebuilt. The 282 (seats) in 2014 and 303 (seats) in 2019 to Sri Narendra Modi made today possible!", Surya, who is also the party's BJP youth Wing state general secretary, tweeted.

He also said that the survival of India depends on the survival of Sanatana Dharma.

"The Sanatana Dharma, that is nationalism,' Sri Aurobindo had said in his Uttarapara speech. But what does it mean? Along with Jai Sri Ram, the purohits also chanted Bharat Mata Ki Jai - That is Dharmic nationalism. If Dharma survives, India survives," he said in another tweet.

Bengaluru, Jun 4: The Special Investment Promotion Task Force, constituted by the Karnataka government, held its first meeting in Vidhana Soudha, Bengaluru on Wednesday, June 3.

The first meeting of the task force was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Karnataka government.

The body is seeking to find ways to attract the disenchanted multi-national corporations (MNCs) which are looking to shift their manufacturing base away from China in the back-drop of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Bengaluru, Apr 21: An FIR has been filed against a Kannada TV anchor allegedly for organising a guest packed wedding at a resort near Bengaluru last week amid lockdown to contain the spread of coronavirus.

Police got the tip-off about the event held on April 18 by locals residing near the resort. Around 20 people were present there to attend the wedding.

The FIR has been filed under National Disaster Management Act (NDMA) and Section 188 and 269 of the Indian Penal Code.
