Udupi, September 7: The window (kindi) on the outer wall of the Sri Krishna Temple, and the window at the sanctum sanctorum of the same Temple can be called as Kanakana Kindi, according to Pejawar Mutt chief pontiff Vishvesha Thirtha Swamiji.
“As the chief pontiffs of all eight Mutts of Udupi always have highest respect for Kanka Dasa, they don't have any objection in calling both the kinidis (windows) as kindis of kanaka,” the seer stated.
The statement comes following the protests over his controversial suggestion to call the window at the sanctum sanctorum of the Temple as 'Navagraha Kindi'.
The seer said that he came to know that his suggestion has hurt the feelings of Koraga community, which is a part of Hinduism. “But, the name 'Navagraha Kindi' was given after consulting then chief swamiji of Kanaka peetha and all the leaders of Koraga community,” he said.
However, he reiterated, he did not have any objection in naming both Kindis as Kindis of Kanaka, if the Koraga community was not ready to include the word Navagraha.
The Pejawar seer meanwhile urged the people not the make Kanaka Kindi, a bone of contention.
