Parie' to hit screens in November

Mangalore, September 9: The Kannada movie 'Parie', starring Nagakiran, Nivedhitha (Smitha) Roopika and Rakesh, is all set to hit the screens in the first week of November.

Announcing this at a press conference here on Friday, music director Veer Samarth said that the live music and melodious songs of 'Pari' is expected to attract music lovers.

He said the audio of the 'Parie' would be released at The Bell near Majestic in Bangalore at 6:00 p.m. on September 17.

The well-known lyricist Sudhir Attavar known for his lovely song Marali Mareyaagi….in 'Savaari' Kannada film and many other books in Kannada inspired from the Mallige poet KS Narasimha Swamy song 'Ninna Premada Pariye….Naanariye Kanakangi….has evolved as debutant director from this Kannada movie, he said.

He said the highlight of this film is two veterans MS Sathyu is doing the art direction and Nimay Ghosh is still photographer.

Another interesting factor is that Sudhir Atthavar's engineering college friends Chandra Sindhogi, Arun Thumati, Ramakrishna Bhat (Washington), MC Gowda (California) Divija K, Mogan Babu and Nityanand all professionals in IT tracing Sudhir Attavar after 18 years are producing the film 'Parie'.

He said the film is based on 'Bharadwaja' novel written by Sampanna Muthalik.

Mr Samarth said one of the Lambani songs in the film will be sung by seven playback singers and they are Hiribai and Kalibai plus Manikya Vinayagam of AR Rehman troupe. BK Sumithra, Jenni, Samanvitha are other singers for the song.

Film coordinators Arun Tumati, Chandru Sindhogi, Trivikrama Belthangady and Mohan of Anand Studio were present at the press conference.

Bengaluru, May 8: Karnataka Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar along with Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday visited Kempegowda International airport for inspection of the screening facility as over 10,000 people from Karnataka stranded in other countries are scheduled to arrive in the state. 

Sudhakar said all safety measures have been taken for the screening and quarantine of all passengers in hotels, hostels, and school buildings.

He appealed to local residents not to panic as adequate safety measures are being taken to prevent any spread of COVID-19 infection.

Bengaluru, Apr 24: The Karnataka Health Department is likely to shift the 119 accused in Padarayanapura violence to Bengaluru's Haj Bhavan from Ramnagar Jail.

This comes after two accused out of 121, who were shifted to Ramnagar jail, tested positive for coronavirus. They have been shifted to Victoria Hospital.

A ruckus erupted in Padarayanapura on Sunday allegedly over the shifting of 15 secondary contacts of corona positive patients to a quarantine facility by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) officials.

Padarayanapura is recognised as a 'red zone'. When BBMP officials went to shift the suspected COVID-19 patients, some people created a ruckus, broke a barricade and removed the police post in the area.

New Delhi, Mar 21: Karnataka Health and Family Welfare Minister B. Sriramulu on Saturday informed that one more person was tested positive for the coronavirus in the state.

He said that a total of 16 persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 in the state so far.

The victim had come from Mecca and was kept in quarantine facility by the state authorities.

"For a 32-year-old man, who had just returned from a trip to Mecca has found COVID-19 positive. The infection has been confirmed. He has already been treated at an isolated ward of the hospital. Citizens must not have any sort of anxiety," tweeted Sriramulu.

Also, the news and public relations department, the Indian Red Cross Society and the Karnataka State Labour Studies Institute have invited volunteers for the programme to provide real-time information to people to avoid spreading rumours and misinformation about coronavirus.

At least four volunteers will work in four shifts per day in each taluk of the state. There are about 120 volunteers in Bengaluru city and about 3,000 Corona Warriors are expected to register from across the state. Over 400 volunteers have registered via online application on the first day.
