
Mangalore, September 13: The department of physics, Govinda Dasa First Grade College Surathkal will host a UGC sponsored two day national conference in Physics on current advancement in physical science research and its applications, 'CAPSRAA-2011' on September 16 and 17.
Prof T Purna, Vice Principal of the College said at a press conference here on Tuesday that Vice Chancellor of Mangalore University Prof Shivashankara Murthy would inaugurate the national conference.
Senior scientist Dr Deepak Mathur from TIFR Mumbai would deliver the keynote address. Reputed scientists from TIFR Mumbai, IIT Chennai and IISc Bangalore would deliver talks during the conference.
Prof Purna said research scholars from various research universities, post graduate and undergraduate colleges, engineering colleges and students from science stream are expected to participate in the conference.
Devappa Kulai, Science Dean of the College, Dr Eshwar Bhat, Coordinator and Krishna Murthy were present on the occasion.
