Mangalore, October 16: Taking on the politicians who fall sick when confronted by the law, former Union Minister B Janardhan Poojary demanded judicial probe into circumstances which saw former CM B S Yeddyurappa being taken to Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research from Parappana Agrahara.

Addressing the media persons at District Congress Office here on Sunday, the senior Congress leader said a sitting judge of High Court should investigate sudden sickness of Yeddyurappa after he was remanded to judicial custody.

He termed the transfer of Yeddyurappa from prison to hospital as an affront to the entire judicial process.

Suspecting the roles of Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, police and prison officers and doctors in shifting Yeddyurappa to hospital, Mr Poojary said that a thorough enquiry is needed to bring out the truth.

Mr Poojary expressed doubt over the credibility of Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda's promise of fair and transparent administration questioning the latter's abrupt cancellation of Mumbai trip following his predecessor's arrest. He also asked the necessity of cabinet ministers calling on the arrested former CM in prison and special hospitality for him among the prisoners.

Recalling the episodes of Katta Subrahmanya Naidu and H Hallapa, the arrested cabinet colleagues of Yeddyurappa, Mr Poojary dubbed Yeddyurappa's complaint of back pain, chest pain and vomiting in the wee hours, a drama. Interestingly, Yeddyurappa's aide S N Krishnaiah Shetty too is following the same tactics, he alleged.

Even when Janardhan Reddy was arrested he suffered from chest pain but the CBI officials in Andhra Pradesh did not give scope to his drama,” Poojary said adding that Congress and other party leaders never used illness as a weapon to evade imprisonment.

“Kalmadi was admitted to hospital because he was sick. We should know that Kalmadi returned to jail after treatment, unlike Halappa who had a long stay in the hospital. Halappa's illness disappeared only after receiving bail,” ridiculed Poojary.

Stating that B S Yeddyurappa's rule in Karnataka has tainted the state's fame, he regretted that Karnataka is now looked at as one of the most corrupt states in the nation.

“If Advani is a man of values, then he should dismiss B S Yeddyurappa from the party or else his Rathayathra will have no meaning,” he commented.

He said that Congress members will not protest against Rathayathra and give it cheap publicity.

Poojary also questioned JD(S) Leader H D Kumaraswamy's sudden outpour of compassion for B S Yeddyurappa. “HDK has said that he has been personally hurt by B S Yeddyurappa's arrest. What is the reason for this compassion? Are you planning to join hands with BSY,” he questioned.

Objecting to Congress members celebrating B S Yeddyurappa's arrest, Poojary said that he would have not allowed this celebration if he was the KPCC Chief.

Bengaluru, Aug 6: Firebrand BJP Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya on Wednesday said that control of state power by Hindus is absolutely essential for sustenance of Dharma.

His comments, in a series of tweets, came on a day Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the Lord Ram temple at Ayodhya.

"Dear Hindus, Most important lesson is that control of State power by Hindus is absolutely essential for sustenance of Dharma. When we didn't control State, we lost our temple. When we regained, we rebuilt. The 282 (seats) in 2014 and 303 (seats) in 2019 to Sri Narendra Modi made today possible!", Surya, who is also the party's BJP youth Wing state general secretary, tweeted.

He also said that the survival of India depends on the survival of Sanatana Dharma.

"The Sanatana Dharma, that is nationalism,' Sri Aurobindo had said in his Uttarapara speech. But what does it mean? Along with Jai Sri Ram, the purohits also chanted Bharat Mata Ki Jai - That is Dharmic nationalism. If Dharma survives, India survives," he said in another tweet.

I am her son and I returned from Dubai on FEBRUARY 13, not March 16. What fake source are you referring to?
