VHP, BD to hold blood donation camp in commemoration of Ayodhya 'martyrs'

Mangalore, October, 28: Dakshina Kannada district committees of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal will be jointly organising a blood donation camp in remembrance of those who “died for the cause of Ram Mandir construction in Ayodhya”.

Announcing this at a press meet Manohar Tulujaram, DK district president of VHP, said the camp would commence would be held between 9:00 am and 4:00pm on next Sunday, October 30.

He said that since past few years around 1500 to 2000 activists have been donating blood for a noble cause and this year more than activists from Mangalore, Moodbidri and Ullal will be donating their blood.

“Our salutation to those martyrs is by collecting blood across the country”, he added.

Recalling the Mulayam Singh government's action in Ayodhya against Karasevak's who had violated the prohibitory measures in 1990, he said that many had died the in the police golibar. In order to remind the society about their sacrifices, VHP is leading this camp, he said.

In case of any emergency requirement of blood, the committee will be there to help, he added.

Jagadish Shenava, Vice President, DK district committee of VHP, Gopal Kuttar, General Secretary, Shivananda Mendon, District Convenor, Bajarang Dal, and Praveen Kuttar, PRO, Bajrang Dal were present in the press meet.

Mosque to host Hindu couple’s marriage

Alappuzha, Jan 4: The management committee of a mosque in Kerala is all set to solemnize the wedding of a Hindu couple, setting yet another instance of the communal harmony prevailing in Kerala.

The Cheravally Muslim Jamaat Committee at Kayamkulam in Alappuzha district in South Kerala is conducting the marriage of Anju and Sharath after the bride's mother approached the Jamaat authorities seeking help.

The marriage will be held at the mosque premises on January 19 as per Hindu rituals and the Jamaat Committee has also prepared the invitations.

Anju's father Ashokan died a few years back and her mother Bindhu was struggling to win bread for her three children. Nujumudeen Alummoottil, a businessman and secretary of the Jamaat had helped the family earlier also.

Hence Bindu sought his help for the marriage of Anju. Nujumudeen discussed it with other members of the Jamaat committee and members of the mosque.

Najumudeen said that there was no hesitation from anyone on conducting the marriage by the mosque at its premises. A gift in cash and gold would be also given to the couple.

Kerala recently witnessed a church allowing the Muslim believers who participated in an anti-CAA meet to offer namaz at the church premises and another church conducting a carol service with the youth of the parish dressed up in traditional Muslim attire.

Kerala is unique in India for cordial relation between different religions. However, this is not being digested by sanghis and are trying to build gulf between the communities. 'Extension not for Work From Home for employees of IT industry'

Bengaluru, Apr 29: Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Tuesday clarified that Department of Telecommunications has extended the relaxed terms and conditions for VPN till July 31.

"Wish to clarify that it is not extension of WFH. In response to IT Industry's request to facilitate WFH for OSPs, Department of Telecommunications, India had relaxed terms and conditions for VPN till April 30 After discussions with IT Ministers this relaxation in terms and conditions is extended till July 31," Prasad Tweeted quoting Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka Dr Ashwath Narayan.

Earlier, the Karnataka government issued a press statement saying that the central government has given permission to IT professionals to work from home till July 31 in the view of COVID-19 pandemic.

‘No alliance in future’: Cong-JDS turn archrivals once again in Karnataka

Bengaluru, July 23: The Janta Dal (Secular) and Congress that had joined hands together in Karnataka ‘to keep communal forces at bay, have once again turned archrivals. The development comes a year after the collapse of JD(S)-Congress coalition government in the state.

Recently, Leader of the Opposition Siddaramaiah claimed that the Congress would have won at least 10 seats in the Lok Sabha elections had it not been for the alliance with the JD(S). In response, former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy of the JD(S), who headed the coalition government, blamed the Congress for its many 'conspiracies'.

In a series of tweets on Wednesday, Kumaraswamy said he was prompted by Siddarmaiah's claims to recall what transpired during the coalition government.

"There will never be a future alliance with Congress," Kumaraswamy declared, in a letter to his party colleagues on Wednesday. He claimed that there were many conspiracies on part of Congress, which led to the fall of the coalition government.
