Muniyappa flags off Mangalore-Palakkad Intercity Train

Mangalore, November 18: Union Minister of State for Railways KH Muniyappa on Friday flagged off 22609/22610 Mangalore Central-Palakkad Junction Intercity Express at Mangalore Central Railway Station here.

Train 22609 Mangalore Central - Palakkad Intercity (daily) Express is scheduled to leave Mangalore Central at 12 noon and to reach Palakkad junction at 6.15 pm. In the return direction, train 22610 Palakkad - Mangalore Central express will leave Palakkad junction at 7.25 am and reach Mangalore Central at 1.40 pm.

These trains will stop at Kasaragod, Kanhangad, Payyanur, Kannur, Thalassery, Kozhikode, Tirur, Shoranur and Ottapalam. This train will have one A/C chair car, four second class chair cars, six second class coaches and two-luggage cum brake vans. Reservation for this train already commenced.

Bengaluru, Mar 15: The Karnataka government has intensified screening all international passengers at airports by classifying them into three risk categories.

Passengers, who are symptomatic on arrival fall under risk category 1, those aged above 60 and have Symptoms fall under category 2. Those who fall in both these categories are being quarantined at designated facilities for 14 days from arrival.

Asymptomatic passengers arriving from any of the COVID-19 affected countries will fall under category 3 and will be advised to be under strict home quarantine for 14 days, Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar said here on Sunday.

Mangaluru, May 5: The principal of St Agnes College, Mangaluru, Sr Dr Jeswina AC attained superannuation after 28 years of dedicated and fruitful service.

Sister Dr Venissa AC, the associate professor of the department of Economics, has been appointed by the Apostolic Carmel Educational Society Management as the principal of the college. Sister Roopa Rodrigues AC. has been appointed as the vice principal.

Sr Dr Venissa AC was earlier serving as the vice principal at St Agnes College.

The college and the management has thanked Sr Dr Jeswina AC for the dedicated services she has rendered to the college.

Tumkur, Jan 10: A five-year-old boy has been killed by a leopard in Gubi taluk of Tumkuru district in Karnataka.

The local police said today that the incident took place on Thursday evening when the boy was returning home along with his grandmother.

The leopard first attacked a cow and then the boy who was behind it. The feline dragged the body into the forest.

After a search operation by the forest officials, the body was found and handed over to the parents after post-mortem.
