Suratkal, November 21: Popular Front of India, Suratkal conducted a rally and public meet at Fiza Ground, Krishnapur near here on Sunday as part of the organization's publicity campaign for Social Justice Conference scheduled to be held at Ramlila Maidan, New Delhi, on 26th and 27th November 2011.

Addressing the gathering Anwar Sadath, Chairman, Information and Empowerment Centre, Mangalore, said that though the Indian constitution says that resource of the country should be shared to the every citizen of the nation, the consecutive governments that ruled the country after independence have deceived common people.

“All rulers of our country after the independence hailed from upper caste and upper section”, he pointed out.

He said that distance between rich and poor in the country has been growing day by day. PFI has pledged to remove the handcuffs of slavery put on to the hands of people by national political parties and to free the people of this land. The organisation is urging for the justice before the state what the common people desire, he said.

Mr Sadath said RSS is spreading Brahminism in the country under the guise of development of Hindus. Dalits and backward sections had begun a movement for the implementation of Mandal commission report during V P Singh's tenure as prime minister. But L K Advani changed the direction of the movement by launching ratha yathra.

“Our nation achieved independence because of the struggle of real Hindus and Muslmis. RSS had never participated in freedom struggle. Its second convener M S Golwalker, in his book 'We, Our Nationhood Defined', mentioned that 'Hindus should not participate in freedom struggle. British are not our enemies. Our real enemies are Muslims, and hence Hindus should accumulate strength to fight against them'. This shows the real face of so called patriotic organisation”, he said.

Mumbai, May 30: Former Bollywood actress Zaira Wasim has deleted her Twitter and Instagram accounts after being heavily trolled for quoting from the Quran while talking about locust attacks.

"So We sent upon them the flood and locusts and lice and frogs and blood: Signs openly self explained: but they were steeped in arrogance -- a people given to sin. --Qur'an 7:133," Zaira had tweeted.

Soon, she started receiving hateful comments from netizens who interpreted her post as a justification of the locust attacks. They felt that Zaira was suggesting that the incident is God's way of expressing wrath.

Shortly after being deluged with such comments, Zaira Wasim deleted her Twitter and Instagram accounts.

However, a section of netizens continue to attack Zaira on her Facebook page, where she put up the same post.

Commenting on the post, a user wrote: "Lady you must have taken into account of those people of JK, Kerala and elsewhere who are also suffering from the virus. Moreover the crops which are damaged by locust had no name as to who will consume them. In this hours of crisis please post something which is positive and reflects your education."

Another user shared: "So according to you, with all due respect every year on the same time period, Allah send locust to India to destroy the crops of poor farmers who are not even involve in the industrial rise, who don't use vehicle to destroy the nature, and Allah send locust only to harm the poor farmers and not the rich one who actually destroy nature."

"So those farmers who lost there fields of crops and will probably go into debt and may also commit suicide, those farmers who feed the nation, who feed you and every one, are sinners?" asked yet another user.

However, there were a few on social media who felt Zaira had done nothing wrong.

"Quoting Quranic Verse is not a crime... Why is every Indian abusing @ZairaWasimmm. She didn't mention any particular nation or religion. I request everyone please stand with #ZairaWasim. She needs our support. #ISupportZairaWasim," goes a tweet.

Mumbai, Feb 26: Maharashtra cabinet minister and Congress leader Aslam Shaikh on Wednesday said that former chief minister Devendra Fadnavis made an irresponsible statement regarding the Shiv Sena-led state government's 'silence' on AIMIM leader Waris Pathan's remark. He added that as the incident took place in Karnataka, Fadnavis should ask Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa about the matter.

"This is an irresponsible statement given by Devendra Fadnavis. He should ask the same question to the Chief Minister of Karnataka where the statement was given," Shaikh said.

"Fadnavis should ask the same question to the Union Home Minister Amit Shah that why has he not been able to control the violence going on in Delhi," he added.

Earlier, on Tuesday, targeting Shiv Sena's silence over the recent controversial remark by Waris Pathan, Fadnavis said the Uddhav Thackeray-led party might be "wearing bangles" but the BJP was not and knew how to retaliate in the same manner.

"Shiv Sena might be wearing bangles but we are not. If someone says something then he will be given an answer in the same way. BJP has this much power," said Fadnavis while launching a scathing attack on ruling-Shiv Sena in Maharashtra for not taking strict action against Pathan.

On February 20, while addressing an anti-CAA rally, at Kalaburagi in Karnataka, Pathan had said, "Time has now come for us to unite and achieve freedom. Remember we are 15 crores but can dominate over 100 crores."
