Let Pejawar seer, Acharya roll on leftover food of Dalits'

Mysore, December 7: MP Adagur H Vishwanath on Tuesday came down heavily on Karnataka government for not banning the casteist ritual of 'Made-Made-Snana' at government-run Kukke Subrahmanya Temple in Sullia taluk of Dakshina Kannada district.

“The government is a fascist government,” he said.

He also criticised chief pontiff of Pejawat mutt Vishwesha Thirtha Swamji and Muzrai Minister V S Acharya for their blatant support to the ritual.

“Let Vishwesha Thirtha and V?S?Acharya also roll over the plantain leaves having leftovers of meal served to those who offered 'made-made-snana (Dalits) at Kukke recently”, Mr he said.

“Stop pushing people into believing superstitions”, he said.

He bemoaned that even a few mutts are encouraging the practise to continue.

Mentioning the bundh called by those supporting the 'Made made snana', Vishwanath termed the development as uncivilised.

Taking a dig at former chief minister H?D?Kumaraswamy, Vishwanath said, “JD(S) is no longer a state party, it is only present in the zilla panchayat level. If Sriramulu forms a new party then JD(S) should merge with it.” “Kumarswamy knew that if JD(S) competed (in the bypoll) then it would lose its deposit.
