Mysore, December 7: MP Adagur H Vishwanath on Tuesday came down heavily on Karnataka government for not banning the casteist ritual of 'Made-Made-Snana' at government-run Kukke Subrahmanya Temple in Sullia taluk of Dakshina Kannada district.

“The government is a fascist government,” he said.

He also criticised chief pontiff of Pejawat mutt Vishwesha Thirtha Swamji and Muzrai Minister V S Acharya for their blatant support to the ritual.

“Let Vishwesha Thirtha and V?S?Acharya also roll over the plantain leaves having leftovers of meal served to those who offered 'made-made-snana (Dalits) at Kukke recently”, Mr he said.

“Stop pushing people into believing superstitions”, he said.

He bemoaned that even a few mutts are encouraging the practise to continue.

Mentioning the bundh called by those supporting the 'Made made snana', Vishwanath termed the development as uncivilised.

Bellary by-poll

Taking a dig at former chief minister H?D?Kumaraswamy, Vishwanath said, “JD(S) is no longer a state party, it is only present in the zilla panchayat level. If Sriramulu forms a new party then JD(S) should merge with it.” “Kumarswamy knew that if JD(S) competed (in the bypoll) then it would lose its deposit. So he went to Bellary took 'Kanike' and came back,” he said.
