Axis Bank launches 'Young Bankers' program for banking aspirants

Mangalore, December 8: Axis Bank, India's third largest private Bank, in association with Manipal Global Education Services (MaGE) has announced the launch of 'Young Bankers' Program, an initiative to attract young graduates to a career in banking with Axis Bank. Young Bankers Program, a one year full time residential program will be conducted at Manipal University Bangalore Campus and will impart knowledge and skills in banking, etiquette & grooming, enhanced communication skills and other soft skills.

Upon successful completion of the program, the students will be awarded with a Post Graduate Diploma in Banking Services by Manipal University and will be absorbed in the Assistant Manager grade by Axis Bank.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Rajesh Dahiya, President, Human Resources, Axis Bank said, “Axis Bank offers young graduates a bright career opportunity in the exciting field of financial services. We provide our employees a stimulating opportunity conducive to learning, performance and growth. This programme is aimed at equipping graduate students with necessary banking knowledge and skills for a career in Banking with Axis Bank.”

The program includes classroom sessions of 9 months split into 3 trimesters followed by an Internship of 3 months at any Axis Bank branch/office across the country. The Bank will provide financial support to the students during the one year period.

Mangaluru, Jan 3: Mangaluru police arrested another person on charge of spreading communal hatred through messages. The accused have been identified as Abubakkar Siddique (48).

"One Abubakkar Siddique has been arrested in connection with a case for spreading communal hatred through inciting messages," said Dr PS Harsha, commissioner of police, Mangaluru.

On December 31, Police have arrested one person, Moideen Hameez, on charge of spreading communal hatred through social media.

The Mangaluru city police on Monday served notices to a few persons for posting inflammatory messages on social media.

The Cyber Crime police have summoned the accused persons to appear before it on January 2.

"Action against miscreants spreading communal hatred on social media underway in a major way. A dedicated team of cyber experts is keeping a hawk's eye on anyone fomenting communal disharmony anywhere on the internet," Harsha said in another tweet.

Bengaluru, Mar 24: The usually busy and bustling city of Bengaluru wore a deserted look on Tuesday as Karnataka went into total lockdown, with the exception being the emergency services, to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Monday had announced a complete lockdown in the state till April 1.
"In the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, the entire state will be locked down from 12 am of March 23 to April 1. People are requested to strictly follow it to contain the coronavirus spread," Yediyurappa said.
Earlier, the Karnataka government had ordered the suspending of all public and private transport services.
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of positive cases of COVID-19 in India have risen to 491.

Mangaluru, May 17: A team of staff and students from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte, have designed and developed a simple and cost-effective touch-less hand sanitiser dispenser kit at Research and Innovation Centre, Nitte.

According to a release here on Sunday, NITTE said that the most effective medicine for Covid-19 is social distancing, frequent use of sanitiser, and washing hands regularly. In work areas, many people sharing common sanitiser might lead to issues.

The developed product dispenses sanitiser upon sensing the presence of the hand. The product has features like automatic hand detection, indication for power, and sanitiser quantity in the system.
