Mangalore, December 10: In a sudden reshuffle in police department, Inspector-General of Police (Western Range) Alok Mohan has been transferred by the State Government.
Sources within the police department said that the transfer was necessary as Mr Mohan is expected to get promotion. However, his next post is not yet confirmed. Mr Mohan had taken over as Western Range IGP on August 26, 2010.
Pratap Reddy, the IGP in Fire Services, is expected to replace the outgoing Western Range IGP, sources said.
He will supervise policing operations in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Chikmagalur and Uttara Kannada districts.
