Mangalore, December 18: Air India Express has effected changes in schedule of Mangalore-Muscat-Abu Dhabi and Mangalore-Abu Dhabi flights from December 19 to January 31.

The Mangalore-Muscat-Abu Dhabi flight IX 817, will operate on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. It will leave Mangalore at 9.25 pm and reach Muscat at 11.45 pm. This flight will depart from Muscat at 12.30 am and reach Abu Dhabi at 1.50 am.

The return flights, will operate on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays (IX 818), will leave Muscat at 12.30 am and reach Abu Dhabi at 1.50 am. The flight will take off from Abu Dhabi at 2.40 am and reach Mangalore at 7.20 am.

AIE IX 815 which operates between the city and Abu Dhabi on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and has return flight (IX 816) on Wednesdays and Thursdays will not operate. Likewise, the M'lore-Abu Dhabi flight (IX 817) operating on Sundays, and its return flight (IX 818) on Mondays from Abu Dhabi will not operate. 2450811/ 673 and 2220450/ 2254254/ 2254253.

Udupi, Jan 17: Six fishermen were rescued by members of another fishing boat after their boat capsized off Gangolli coast in the District recently.

Police on Friday said that the fishing boat, belonging to Jayalakshmi of Kodi Kanyana, had set sail from Malpe towards Gangolli on the night of January 12. On Wednesday (Jan 15) the vessel’s hull got damaged and water began gushing in.

Udupi, Jul 14: Kundapura police in Karnataka have booked a case against a businessman who had violated home quarantine rules as many as 163 times.

Accused Sahab Singh had arrived at his rented house at Koteshwara from Mumbai on June 29. He was asked to remain quarantined in his house till July 13. 

However, he was found loitering and visiting hotels in Udupi. Officials tracked his movement through mobile GPS. He breached the quarantine period 163 times. 

Following the violation, Flying Squad officer N G Bhat filed a complaint against Singh in Kundapura Police Station under IPC Sections 269, and 270.

Belthangady, Jun 26: Thieves broke into a house at Kalmanja village in Belthangady taluk of Dakshina Kannada during the wee hours on Friday and decamped with cash and valuables worth Rs 13 lakhs after tying the inmates of an areca merchant's house.

Police said the stolen valuables include 40 sovereigns gold, one kg silver and cash of Rs 25,000. The robbery took place in the house of Achyut Bhat who is an areca merchant in Ujire.

The house inmates opened the door after hearing dogs barking. Immediately the criminals, wearing masks, barged into the house and threatening to kill tied them before escaping with the booty.
