TRF holds a rare get-together of physically challenged

Mangalore, December 23: A get together of physically challenged persons was organised by Talent Research Foundation, Mangalore at the Talent Conference Hall here recently.

Firoz Ahmed Kudrolli, a young physically challenged achiever, who has no hands by birth, inaugurated the programme by typing on Computer with the help of his legs.

Dr Nusrath Jabeen, a doctor of Wenlock Hospital, Subramanya, District Officer, physically-challenged persons' welfare department, Vasanth Kumar Shetty, Secretary of Sanidhya Special School, Haneef Abdul Khader Moodbidri, Physically-challenged Engineer Nisar Ahmed Kappepadavu, Mansoor Azad Hardware, Syed Mohammad Kulshekhar, Ashraf Abbas of H H Group and Industrialist Sulaiman were chief guests.

Rafeek Master gave an insight into the life of the physically challenged people.

Riyaz Kannur presided over the function.

Firoz Ahmed Kudroli, Nisar Ahmed Kappepadavu, Riyaz Sunnathkere and Vasanth Kumar Shetty were felicitated on this occasion. As many as 138 physically challenged students were identified through a survey by TRF and were given financial assistance. Saiduddin Bajpe welcomed while Abdul Hameed proposed vote of thanks.

Mangaluru, Jun 29: A hospital set up in 1848 in the Port City has to remain closed till July 5 as majority of the Doctors and Staff at Lady Goschen Government Hospital are quarantined after coming in contact with a COVID-19 infected person.

Hospital Medical Superintendent said that both in-patient and out-patient wings of the hospital will remain closed till July 5 as there is a need to fumigate and sanitise all the departments of the hospital. Patients for treatment under 'Ayushman Bharat – Arogya Karnataka' scheme will be sent to private medical colleges with the referral card from the hospital. The hospital will start functioning normally from July 6.

The Lady Goschen Government Hospital, earlier known as the maternity Hospital, is the oldest hospital in the district and dates back to 1848.

Bhopal, Mar 12: Madhya Pradesh Congress on Thursday alleged that two of its ministers who had gone to Bengaluru to meet the rebel party legislators were assaulted.

"Two of our ministers Jitu Patwari and Lakhan Singh had gone to Bengaluru. They were assaulted, we have info that our ministers have been arrested," Madhya Pradesh Congress leader said during a press conference.

Congress further warned that if the police don't take action, the party will take it to the court.

Some of the rebel MLAs had said in a video on Wednesday that they were in Bengaluru out of their own will.

The rebel MLAs have been staying in Bengaluru over the past few days.

Belagavi, Jun 6: Suspecting that cow meat was being transported to Goa, unidentified persons set goods vehicle on fire near Karle village in Belagavi taluk last night.

The Incident came to the fore on Saturday morning.

Usually, vehicles carrying vegetables, milk and other essentials being transported to Goa and other towns plying via Karle village near Belagavi.

Sources said that for the past few days vehicles carrying meat were stopped and were handed over to police by section of activists suspecting it to be cow meat.

Persons who set the vehicle on fire were yet to be identified. Jurisdictional Belagavi Rural police have rushed to the spot. More details were awaited.
