CPI lashes out at 'corrupt BJP and capitalist Congress'

December 31, 2011

Mangalore, December 31: CPI Karnataka State Committee Secretary Dr Siddhanagowda Patil came down heavily on the BJP led State government and the Congress led Central government, calling the former as the corrupt and the latter as the capitalist.

Criticising the BJP government for involving in misappropriations and bringing a bad name to State, he said that the BJP only helped the industries and the religious institutions like mutts to fetch money, while it remained least bothered about the people of Karnataka. And on the other hand, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is not performing his duty as the Prime Minister but is acting as an agent of Multi National Banks and Companies, he alleged.

Patil was delivering the inaugural address at the 21st District Convention organised by the Communist Party of India at Nehru Maidan on Friday. Addressing the CPI workers at the rally followed by the conference, he said that though the BJP leaders are put behind the bars in the State, the Vishwa Hindu Parishat, Bhajrang Dal and associated organisations do not seem to be ashamed of it.

Pejavar seer is blessing the group of these corrupt men which is nothing less than a shame. The State government holds no morality to criticise the Central government when the State government itself is corrupt, he said.

Taking a dig at the Central government, he said, “the Central government is doing favours to the MNCs at the cost of the general public. The government which gives crores of rupees of tax exemption to the Multi National Companies, on the other hand is imposing tax on even the smallest of the goods purchased by the general public. The government is not concerned about the farmers suicides in the nation,” he complained.

Calling the CPM as the only party which is promptly following internal democracy system within the party, he said if the Congress is in the hands of Sonia Gandhi, the BJP is controlled by the RSS and the JD(S) is reserved to family politics. “It is only the CPM which follows democratic method in choosing its leaders,” he said.

He informed that the CPI national convention will be held at Patna in Bihar on March 23, 2012 and the State-level convention will be held in Bangalore on January 11.

CPI DK and Udupi District Committee Secretary K Sanjeev, MLA from Kerala E Chandrashekharan and others were present.

Bengaluru, Aug 8: Congress is confused on the Ram Mandir issue and in dilemma to take a firm stand fearing loss of Muslim or Hindu votes, according to BJP leader and Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi.

"Congress opposed BJP's stand on constructing Ram Mandir in Ayodya, it called Lord Ram fictional and even decided to break the Ramsetu. Now, Congressmen are speaking the other way. Congress cannot think beyond vote bank politics which is in its DNA itself. Congressmen think that they are born to be in power," he said while speaking to media persons.

He said that BJP is all for constructing a grand Ram Mandir peacefully and legally, due to its conviction and not for politics. Same was the case with the revocation of Article 370 for Jammu & Kashmir. Anti-national activities have comparatively come down now.

Some people do not want everything going smoothly in the country, and Congress and Asaduddin Owaisi are among them, Joshi opined, adding that the Congress is merely frustrated.
