Udupi, January 3: Keeping Putthige Mutt pontiff Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji out of the Paryaya festivities, for his Sagarollangana (touring foreign countries) has irked his followers.

A delegation of his followers visited Sode Mutt on Tuesday evening and handover a memorandum, seeking to include Putthige seer in the Paryaya procession and in the 'Darbar' proceedings to the Sode Paryaya reception committee.

As the Diwan of Sode Mutt Padigaru Srinivas Tantry demanded the delegation to handover the memorandum in front of the Bhootharajana Gudi, a powerful deity strongly believed by the Sode Mutt, some of the followers hesitated.

At the end, the delegation handed over the memorandum to the Paryaya Reception Committee manager.

Lions District Governor Jayakar Shetty Indrali headed the delegation. JD (S) District President Deviprasad Shetty, ZP member Arun Kumar Padoor, Santhosh Shetty, Praveen Shetty, Vasudev Bhat and others participated in the delegation.

Bengaluru, Apr 13: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President and former Minister D K Shivakumar has demanded resignation of Minister In-Charge of COVID-19 for his alleged irresponsible comment, despite holding a responsible post.

Mr Shivakumar's comments came after Dr Sudhakar on Sunday shared a picture of him and his children in a swimming pool, on Twitter with a caption, ''After a long time joined my children for swimming hope maintaining social distance here as well…hahaha.''

However, Dr Sudhakar deleted the tweet from his account, soon after he was criticised for sharing such a picture, when the country is facing a health crisis.
