Mangalore, January 8: Veteran religious scholar Shaikhuna C P Mohammed Kunhi Musliyar, popularly known as 'Manjanady Ustad', died at his home in the early hours of Saturday.
He was 96.
Ustad, who was an active leader in the religious field for nearly eight decades, had served as the Mudarris of Manjanady for 25 years.
He was buried in Kanhangad on Saturday evening.
Bengaluru, Mar 26: The number of COVI D-19 cases in Karnataka spiked to 55 on Thursday after four new cases were reported.
According to official sources, a 35-year-old man, who was a resident of Nanjanagud town in Mysuru taluk and worked in a pharma unit, tested positive for coronavirus.
He had been quarantined in his home and efforts are being made to track down as many as seven persons, who had primary contact with
him.
Bengaluru, May 5: Karnataka Education Minister, S Suresh Kumar on Monday announced that the SSLC exams will be held as soon as possible, the officials have been asked to be prepared.
The guidelines have been given by the Primary Education Minister to all Deputy Directors of Education departments.
"Sanitisers, masks, screening, and all guidelines will be followed at exam halls," said Kumar in a statement.
Meanwhile, Karnataka has reported 651 COVID-19 positive cases so far, said State Health Department said on Monday.
Mangalore, Feb 4: Final chance to present evidence and record eyewitness statements with the Deputy Commissioner of Udupi G Jagadeesh regarding the December 19 violence will be held on February 6 between 1100 and 1300 hrs.
Eyewitness and evidence presenters can depose at the Assistant’s Commissioner’s Court Hall in the Mini Vidhan Soudha in the city.
The Deputy Commissioner said that no evidence would be accepted after this last round of public hearing.
