Kasargod, January 8: Pejawar Mutt seer Vishwesha Theertha called upon the people to come forward to build a conflict-free society.
He was speaking after inaugurating a harmony meet organised as part of the 42nd annual convocation of Jamia Saadiya Arabia, here on Saturday.
Laying emphasis on the philosophy of unity in diversity, Swamiji said that the messages of all the religions were same though their rituals and customs were different.
The essence of all the major religions are piety, love, peace and mutual cooperation, he said.
General Manager of Saadia institution M A Abdul Khader Musliar presided over the programme. General Secretary K S Atakoya Thangal performed Du'a. Fr Antony Pulloor of Kotekani Church delivered message of unity and harmony. Former minister Cherkala Abdullah released harmony special issue.
A harmony rally was also taken out in the city ahead of the meet.
Mangaluru, Jan 11: Reacting to the recent video clippings provided to the media by former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy in connection with the December 19 unrest in Mangaluru, city Police Commissioner Dr PS Harsha on Saturday said that the video has to be seen in a proper sequence to come to a conclusion on the happenings of that day.
