Mangalore, January 11: The logo of ONGC-MRPL International Kite Festival 2012 was unveiled on Tuesday by U K Basu, Managing Director, MRPL.

The International Kite Festival sponsored mainly by ONGC-MRPL would be held on January 21 and 22, 2012 on the Panambur Beach, Mangalore 2.30 pm onwards.

According to a press release, as many as 17 internationally known kite fliers from eight countries would be participating in this event.

Kite contest for engineering students would be held on January 21, 2012 at the same venue at 3 pm.

Unveiling the colorful logo depicting the synergy of spontaneity and festivity Mr. Basu said that MRPL and ONGC was happy to sponsor this International Event for the fourth time in Mangalore.

P.S.Ravindran, GGM(Finance), K.Lakshminaryana, GGM(HR), Sanjay Dixit, GM(CC & CSR), Sushilchandra, GM(HR) and Lekshmi Kumaran DGM, (CC&CSR) were present during the unveiling ceremony.

B.Sarvesha Rao and Dinesh Holla, of Team Mangalore presented a kite to each of the dignitaries.

Giridhar Kamath, Nitin J Shetty, Subhash Pai, Prashant Upadhyaya, Shashank Shetty and Harsha Samrajya of Team Mangalore were also present.

Bengaluru, May 17: Karnataka Government on Sunday decided to appoint Administrative Committees, to over 6000 Panchayat Bodies, in the state, who’s five-year term would comes to an end this month.

Speaking to the media here, the Karnataka Panchayat Raj Minister, K S Eshwarappa informed that the state cabinet met recently had favored to appoint committees which would replace the elected bodies.

Informing that there is provision in the Panchayath Raj Act to appoint the committees, he said that the concerned Deputy Commissioners of the district, would appoint the members, to the committee, who were eligible to be nominated to the committees.

Udupi, Mar 8: The 75-year old man who was admitted to Udupi District Hospital over suspected Corona Virus infection has tested negative on Saturday.

The reports from Bengaluru Medical College’s laboratory where the samples of the person were sent, confirmed that the aged person was not infected with Corona Virus.

The report was submitted to the District Administration by the laboratory that confirmed that the person was not infected by the viral Corona Virus.

Kalaburagi, Mar 16: A family member of the 76-year-old man from Kalaburgai who died of COVID-19 on March 10 has been tested positive for the virus.

Kalaburagi Deputy Commissioner B Sharat said, "One member of the family of the 76-year-old man from Kalaburgai, who died due to coronavirus has tested positive for the virus."

The disease which originated in China's Wuhan city in December last year has so far spread to more than 100 countries, infecting over 1,30,000 people.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared coronavirus a pandemic.
