Mangalore, January 25: In a daring high-seas rescue, an Indian coast guard vessel averted a great tragedy, around 61 nautical miles off Kasargod on Wednesday.
MSV Sea Princess, a boat laden with cargo belonging to M/s Badri Enterprise at old Mangalore Port, had stranded for hours in the turbulent sea. There were eight crew members on board the vessel.
Official sources said that Indian Coast Guard, rushed its ICGS Kasturba Gandhi vessel immediately after receiving a distress message from Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre, Mumabi about MSV Sea Princess.
All the eight crew members were rescued in the successful operation by ICGS Kasturba Gandhi.
