Karwar, January 29: In a bizarre incident, a teenage boy has allegedly killed his own father at Sea Bird colony in Chittakula in Karwar.

The victim has been identified as Deepak Kharvi, an ex-serviceman. His son Madhusudhan, who has confessed to stabbing his father to death, claimed that the deceased used to torture his mother.

The gruesome murder that occurred on Saturday night, came to light only on Sunday morning.

“He was a drunkard and used to torture my mother for trivial reasons every day. He was also giving trouble to my brothers and other family members under the influence of alcohol”, the accused told police while interrogation.

Madhusudhan also alleged his father of trying to stab his family members in the past under the influence of alcohol.

However, Madhusudhan also said that he stabbed his father accidentally and it was not a deliberate murder. “On Saturday night, he came home drunk and began to quarrel with me for a trivial reason. Earlier in the day he had given me some money asking to bring home fish. Unfortunately I had forgotten it. My attempt to convince him completely failed and in a fit of anger he tried to stab me. In a bid to escape I held his hands and pushed him. He sustained injuries in the fight. When he continued his effort stab me, I snatched the knife from his hand and stabbed him”, Madhusudhan narrated.

“I had no other option but stabbing him”, he said.

It is said that Madhusudhan spent whole night at home keeping his father's dead body.

Raju, the uncle of the accused, shocked to witness his brother's dead body on entering the house. He immediately informed the police, who rushed to the spot and arrested the accused.
