Godrej Properties to come up with 449-flat, three-tower residential project at Yeyyadi

Mangalore, February 7: Godrej Properties Ltd. (GPL), the real estate development arm of the Godrej Group on Tuesday announced the launch of its residential project Godrej Alpine at a 4.5-acre plot in Yeyyadi, Airport Road, on the outskirts of Mangalore.

The residential project consists of three towers of 19 floors each and offers a total of 449 apartments ranging from 2, 2.5and 3 BHK apartments with a floor area ranging from 1,203 square feet to 1,659 square feet. It will also have penthouses ranging from 2,700 sq. ft. to 3,500 sq. ft.

Godrej Alpine will have world class recreational facilities such as a squash court, a tennis court, a badminton court, a billiards room, a carom and table tennis room etc. It will also feature gymnasium, a health club and a swimming pool.

Speaking at a press conference in the city, Pirojsha Godrej, executive director, Godrej Properties, said the GPL has planned environmentally friendly features in the project and it offers 80 per cent open space for residents to unwind.

Larson and Toubro has been tasked with the construction work while it has entered into a development agreement with B.M. Farookh of Fiza Group.

Thiruvananthapuram, Jun 25: The government of Kerala under the leadership of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is all set to launch the 'Kerala Dialogue' -- a debate series on new concepts and development models during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A series of visionaries including noted political thinker Noam Chomsky and Nobel-laureate economist Amartya Sen will join this unique initiative that is to be rolled out from Friday.

The debate series to be inaugurated by the CM will feature prominent personalities from various walks of life including scientists, philosophers, diplomats, economists, writers, journalists, activists, technocrats and people's representatives.

The first episode will have Chomsky, Sen and WHO Chief Scientist Dr Soumya Swaminathan speaking on 'Kerala - Future Paths of Development'. 

State Planning Board vice chairman VK Ramachandran and senior journalist N Ram would be the moderators. The first episode would be telecast through the Chief Minister's official social media accounts.

The coming episodes in the series will also be telecast in the same manner. The government is of the view that the Kerala Dialogue series can ensure debates and dialogues on sustainable and inclusive development on the lines of the Kerala model.

Mangaluru, Aug 1: Former member of Karnataka Legislative Council Ivan D’Souza has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. 

The Congress leader took to social media to break the news. “I and my wife Dr Kavitha have been tested positive covid-19 positive. There are no symptoms. We had voluntarily given our throat swabs for testing,” he said in a Facebook post.

He also requested his friends and well-wishers not to visit him until he recovers. 

Mr D’Souza had participated in a party meeting at Congress Bhavan when KPCC chief DK Shivakumar visited city yesterday. He was seen meeting several Congress leaders including U T Khader.

Udupi, May 28: The India Meteorologic Department (IMD) on Thursday warned fishermen in coastal belt of Karnataka against venturing out into the deep sea between May 31 and June 4.

The Department stated that depression is expected to occur in the south-eastern part of Arabian Sea and the nearby areas and it would be dangerous for the fishermen of Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep to go out towards the deep sea.

The Department officials said that they would provide information on development in weather conditions. In the backdrop of the current weather forecast, however, the fishermen in the western coastline were advised against venturing into the sea.
