Bangalore, February 8: The two ministers, who were caught on camera allegedly watching a porn clip on a mobile phone in the state assembly, claimed it wasn't porn "but some real-life incidents caught on camera in Gulf countries".

"We were watching a real-life incident in Iran and Iraq while some soldiers indulged in high-handedness, including raping of women," cooperation minister Laxman Savadi told reporters on Tuesday. He also claimed the clippings had been forwarded to him by his colleague and fisheries minister Krishna Palemar.

"I have not committed any crime or offence. We were watching this during the discussion on the rave party by westerners at St Mary's Island near Udupi. There's no question of my resignation,'' Savadi said.

Initially, there was speculation that the sleaze clips the two ministers were watching were of the rave party at Udupi. But TV crews who witnessed these clippings confirmed the clips were of a rape scene involving American soldiers and the other of a striptease (Nanga Naach) caught on camera in a village of Andhra Pradesh.

When reporters said the film had Indian persons, Savadi said, "It is a foreign film with Indian-style women. The subtitles were in Urdu.''

Bengaluru, Jan 5: Lambasting Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa over the proposal to rename Ramanagara as Nava Bengaluru, former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy on Sunday said that such a move will be an insult to Lord Ram, after whom the district is named.

In a series of tweets, Kumaraswamy accused that renaming the district was a pretext to sell its fertile irrigated land to capitalists. Yediyurappa also wants to settle a score with me by renaming it, he alleged

"If Yediyurappa wishes to develop Ramanagara, he should release the funds allocated in the budget. If you want to develop it further, you will find support from me and my people. But, don't set fire to the districts' culture and identity by changing its name," he tweeted.

Bengaluru, Feb 14: Bengaluru Police on Friday said that it has busted a gang engaged in e-commerce fraud over the online marketplace who were involved in 200 of the 316 cheating cases registered last year.

"We registered 316 cases for cheating through online marketplaces last year. We have busted a gang operating from Rajasthan's Bharatpur and arrested 5 people. They are responsible for 200 out of 316 cases. We are questioning the accused," Bhaskar Rao, Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru told reporters here.

Explaining their modus operandi, the Police Commissioner said, "There were fictitious buyers and sellers on the online marketplace. These people used to call up prospective buyers and sellers. The products that were shown were two-wheelers, four-wheelers, electronic items and furniture."

"People used to send their money to these fraudsters using their QR code. The fraudsters were operating from Bharatpur in Rajasthan. A police team of 15 was sent to the place from where they were operating. Rajasthan police gave us full cooperation and we were able to arrest five persons," he added.

Rao said that these fraudsters had an idea about the loopholes in the e-commerce sector and exploited them.
"Some of those arrested were employed in the e-commerce and banking business and they had an idea about the loopholes in this sector," he said.

"We warn the citizens to ensure that they verify the antecedents of the buyers and sellers in this sector before spending money on these platforms," he added.
