Father Muller to host 'Trends 2012' on Saturday

Mangalore, February 16: Father Muller Centre for Hospital Administration will be organizing 'Trends 2012' a workshop on Quality Management in Healthcare Organisations on Saturdya, according to a press release issued by the institution.

Ajitkumar Hegde S., Commissioiner, Mangalore Urban Development Authority, will inaugurate the workshop being held at the Decennial Memorial Hall on the Father Muller Medical College campus.

Dr. Mallikarjun Reddy, Six Sigma coordinator, Executive Learning and Development service excellence trainer, Apollo Hospital, Bangalore will speak on Quality management in healthcare in the inaugural session of the workshop.

This will be followed by three more sessions to be addressed by Dr. Murali Chakraborthy, Fortis Hospitals, Bangalore, Dr. Thanga Prabhu, international ambassador at Swansea University and Asha Shetty, principal, K. Pandyaraja Ballal College of Nursing, Ullal, Mangalore.

Entry fee for the workshop is Rs. 300 (early bird), Rs. 350 (normal) and Rs. 400 (spot) whereas students have a concessional fee of Rs. 180, Rs. 200 and Rs. 250 for the three categories respectively.

Supreme Court grants bail to 17 Gujarat mass massacre CONVICTS, asks admin to find them work

New Delhi, Jan 28: The Supreme Court of India today granted bail to 17 convicts sentenced to life imprisonment in 2002 Gujarat massacre case, pending their appeal before the Supreme Court.

The convicts also have to participate in social and spiritual services, said the court, announcing the riders for bail.

The Bench of Chief Justice of India SA Bobde and Justices BR Gavai and Surya Kant directed for the convicts to be segregated into two groups to be sent to Indore and Jabalpur.

District legal authorities in Indore and Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh have been asked to ensure that the convicts do the spiritual and social work the court has asked for.

The Supreme Court has also asked the administration to find them work for livelihood. The state legal services authority has been asked to file a compliance report as also report on their conduct.

The case concerns the mass killing of 33 innocent Muslims - mostly women and children - who were burnt alive at Sardarpura village in March 2002.

This was part of the mass massacre that swept through Gujarat in the aftermath of the death of train passengers on Sabarmati Express in Godhra on Feb 27, 2002. Thousands of innocent Muslims were killed and raped in the three-day violence. The victims include hundreds of children including newborns.

In 2016, the Gujarat High Court had upheld the conviction of 17 accused in the Sardarpura massacre case.

Earlier, a Special SIT court had convicted a total of 31 persons in the case, after three years of trial against 73 persons from Sardarpura and nearby villages.

Wah, the real culprit who orchestered the complete episode has been PM to commit more such.

This man need to be facing the similar justice system. He knows, this is India, anything can be done.

Only these few are punished.

We will see the justice is really done as per real justice.

For the sake of God please do not call them JUSTICE. If they str aware of meaning of word justice then they would have given death penalty to all the culprits. So sad that supreme court of india is running as per the instructions of MODI govt. RIP Justice

Karnataka announces Rs 30 lakh for corona warriors in case of death due to COVID-19

Bengaluru, May 1: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Thursday announced Rs 30 lakhs compensation for corona warriors, in case they lose lives while carrying out their duties.

"Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has announced Rs 30 lakhs compensation for Anganwadi workers & assistants, civil workers, and police personnel who die after getting infected by COVID-19 while carrying out their duties," State Chief Minister's Office said in a statement.

According to Union Health Ministry website, a total of 557 cases of coronavirus have been reported in the state so far including 223 cured and 21 deaths.

Meanwhile, With 1,823 new cases of COVID-19 reported in the last 24 hours and 67 deaths, India's total count of coronavirus cases has gone up to 33,610, said the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Thursday.

6 new covid-19 cases take Karnataka's count to 390 including 16 deaths

Bengaluru, Apr 19: With six new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, Karnataka's total count of coronavirus patients has surged to 390, said the State's Health Department on Sunday.

"Six new cases have been confirmed for COVID-19 in the State from 5 pm yesterday till 5 pm today. Cumulatively, 390 COVID-19 positive cases have been confirmed in the state," said the Health Department in a statement.

The total coronavirus cases in the State include 16 deaths and 111 discharges.

Deputy Chief Minister CN Ashwath Narayan said that "only essential and critical number of" employees of the Information Technology (IT) companies will be allowed to work from offices from April 20 onwards in Bengaluru, while others will have to continue working from home.

According to the latest update by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of positive cases in India has mounted to 16,116 and 519 deaths have been reported till now.
