
Mangalore, February 16: A Kasargod based woman was died at hospital in the city on Wednesday due to complications reportedly caused by spraying of endosulfan pesticide in cashew plantations.
The victim has been identified as Jayanthi, 36, a resident of Karmamthodi near Mullaria, one of the worst endosulfan-affected areas in Kasaragod.
Jayanthi's name was on the official list of endosulfan victims from Karadukka panchayat and she had been confined to bed for a long time.
She developed liver complications three years ago and had complained of severe stomach pain of late.
