Mangalore, March 5: A felicitation function for the retired police officer G.A. Bava has been organised on Wednesday at Town Hall, informed activist U H Umar at a press meet here on Monday.
He said a short film based on the life of G A Bava, who retired as Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), titled “Bava and Baduku” would also be released on the occasion by Mangalore City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh.
The short film tries to chronicle his life and achievements in an impassioned manner.
The function will begin with a light music by renowned artists from Karnataka. The short film will be screened at the programme.
Noted journalist Ravi Belagere will deliver felicitation speech. Educationist Prof K E Radhakrishna, film actress Jayamala, and Vice-Chancellor of Nitte University N Vinay Hegde will be the chief guests. Vice Chancellor of Yenepoya University Abdullah Kunhi will preside over the function, said Mr Umar.
The office-bearers of the felicitation committee, M Suresh Chandra Shetty, Dr Krupa Alva and K Suresh Ballal were present at the press meet.

Mangaluru, Jan 11: Reacting to the recent video clippings provided to the media by former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy in connection with the December 19 unrest in Mangaluru, city Police Commissioner Dr PS Harsha on Saturday said that the video has to be seen in a proper sequence to come to a conclusion on the happenings of that day.
