Karkala, March 5: The excitement, the fun, the frolic is all back in NMAM Institute of Technology, NITTE, where the College is all set to host one of its kind state level inter-collegiate Cultural and Literary mega event 'Anandotsava - 2012' on 8th to 10th March 2012.

This festival, being an annual event of the Institute, is ready to showcase the hidden talents of engineering students from all streams who otherwise spend most of their time in taming machines, typing computer codes, burning circuits and in other academic activities.

About 600 students from more than 50 engineering colleges, all over the state participating in this summer event, 'Anandotsava - 12', is ready to capture the zeal with a total of about 29 events in fine arts, literary arts, performing arts, informals and special events, in three different venues of the campus. All the students and faculty of the Institute will take a break from their regular schedule as the celebrations flag off on 8th March 2012.

The fest will be inaugurated in the campus by Ananthakrishna, Chairman, Karnataka Bank Ltd on 8th March at 09.30.AM. The function will be presided by Dr. S. Y. Kulkarni, the Principal of the college

In view of Anandotsava-2012, an entertainment programme, Vismaya Jadoo by Mr.Kudroli Ganesh is also arranged on 8th evening said Dr.S.Y.Kulkarni, the principal of the college.

Bengaluru, May 19: Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has begun booking of tickets from May 18. Ticket counters have been opened after implementation of new guidelines for the fourth phase of COVID-19 nationwide lockdown.

People seeking to travel can book the tickets through KSRTC booking counters, authorised franchises booking counters and online, mobile booking, according to a release.

The advanced booking has started for Bengaluru-Shivamogga, Bengaluru-Mysuru, Bengaluru-Mangaluru routes, among others.

Bookings can be made upto 30 days in advance, as per the release.

Amid COVID-19, Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation has restricted the operation services of the bus between 7 AM to 7 PM, said the release.

Passengers are permitted to travel with social distancing measures while the transport corporation will follow the standard operating procedure issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The MHA had issued updated guidelines after the implementation of the fourth phase of nationwide lockdown on May 17th.

Bengaluru, Jan 22: Three alleged Bangladeshi nationals living illegally in India were apprehended in Karnataka's Bengaluru district, police said on Wednesday.

The arrested are identified as Mohammed Lokman (55), his wife Jasmin Begun (35) and son Raasel (22) are natives of Boresel village in Pirojpur district in Bangladesh.

According to police, they were staying at a camp at Munnekolala village.

Bengaluru, Apr 25: KPCC president D K Shivakumar, has alleged that BJP leaders from the state have sold rice that was meant to be distributed to the poor in Tamil Nadu.

Speaking to newsmen here on Friday, he stated that Congress fully supports the government’s work in the prevention of the spread of COVID-19, but maybe unknown to the Chief Minister, corrupt dealings are which we want to bring to his attention.

He alleged that 1,879 quintals of rice brought from Haryana have been illegally sold to a businessman in Hosur, Tamil Nadu.
