Mangalore, March 18: The special train Porbandar-Kochuveli (No 09262) was flagged off on Saturday. The train left Porbandar on Saturday at 9.30 am and will reach Kochuveli at 12 noon on March 19. In the return direction, Kochuveli-Porbandar special train (No. 09261) will leave Kochuveli at 4.10 am on March 20, and reach Porbandar at 4 am on March 22.

The regular service of Porbandar—Kochuveli weekly express will commence from Porbandar on March 22 at 6.20 pm and will reach Kochuveli at 3.30 pm on March 24. In return direction, Kochuveli-Porbandar will leave Kochuveli at 10.40 am on March 25 and reach Porbandar at 10.30 am on March 27.

The trains will halt at Wansjaliya, Jamnagar, Hapa, Rajkot, Surendranagar, Viramgam, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Ankleshwar, Surat, Vasai Road, Panvel, Ratnagiri, Madgaon, Karwar, Udupi, Mangalore Junction, Kasargod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Tirur, Shoranur, Thrissur, Ernakulam Jn, Alappuzha, Kayamkulam and Kollam.

Mangaluru, Feb 13: Jnandev Kamath, former President of erstwhile Mangalore Stock Exchange Limited died late last night in a private hospital in the city.

He was 65 and is survived by his wife and two daughters.

Jnandev Kamath was an alumnus of SDM College of Law and Business Management. 

He was one the founding members of Mangalore Stock Exchange Limited. He was an avid sportsman, an accomplished cricketer, a champion rallyist and golf coach. 

He often played for Pentlandpet Sports Association (PPSA) in his younger days.

Bengaluru, Mar 7: Customs officials intercepted a Guatemalan national at Kempegowda International Airport here on March 2 and recovered cocaine.

The accused confessed that she had swallowed 150 cocaine capsules and concealed a tube-like structure in her vagina.

The passenger egested the total 1.385 kg of cocaine (150 cocaine capsules) over a period of two days, under medical supervision. She has been arrested.

Further, an investigation is underway.

Mangaluru, Apr 15: A 27-year-old man, who died of breathing problem at Banglagudda in Surathkal, has tested negative for COVID-19.

The entire area was panic-stricken following his death on Tuesday evening. Suspecting COVID-19, his throat swab samples were collected, said Mangaluru North MLA Dr Y Bharath Shetty. Now the test has proved he was negative for coronavirus.

The youth had collapsed suddenly on Tuesday evening and was rushed to a hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.
