Mangalore, March 20: Renowned Bangalore-based fashion designer Latha Puttanna will present exhibition of her works on March 21 at Hotel Gold Finch here.

The exhibition is being hosted in Mangalore by Veena Shetty and will feature collection of sarees, salwars, churidhars, ghagras in silk, raw silk, beneras tissue, silknet, georgette, chiffon and more.

Latha Puttanna is the creative energy behind the brand 'Shrishti'. Shrishti was started 15 years ago with Latha's passion for creating exclusive handmade garments for women. Her brand includes exquisite saris, blouses, kurthis, churidhars, salwars and indo-western wear in every hue of the rainbow.

Latha has organised numerous exhibitions in the US with much success, and in Bangalore. Latha does not have an outlet store that regularly stock her garments. She prefers to sell her exclusive collections through exhibitions held in various cities in India as well as London and US.

Her work is patronized by many celebrity clients and she has designed trousseaux for brides in Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai as well as in the USA. She has done garments for Shakuntala and Dr. DeviShetty's son's weddings as well as epical pieces for artistes like Sumalatha Ambarish and Ashwini Puneet Raj Kumar, actors Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Tabu, Vani Ganapathy and Jaya Zaveri.

New Delhi, April 3: Chairman of Lulu Group, Yusuffali MA on Thursday contributed Rs 25 crores to the Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM-CARES) to combat coronavirus.

"I have humbly contributed INR 25 Crores to the PM Cares Fund to support all relief works in India's fight against the COVID-19," Yusuffali said in a tweet.

Last month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had created PM CARES Fund and appealed to all the countrymen to show their support for the cause.
The prime minister is the chairman of the trust and its members include the defence minister, the home minister and the finance minister.

Bengaluru, Apr 1: The Opposition Congress leader in the Karnataka Assembly, and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has appealed the party legislators and MPs to contribute a minimum rupees one lakh each, towards the KPCC's Corona relief fund.

In a statement, here on Tuesday, Siddaramaiah had stated that the COVID-19 disease had created a havoc among the people of the state, and had thrown thousands of people jobless and struggling to get access to the food grains as well as to medical aid.

The people of the state, who had battered from the unprecedented rains and floods recently, had to face another daunting challenge of the spread of COVID-19 virus across the state.

Mangaluru, Jun 29: A three year old child lost its life after being hit by a car at Nadupadavu village under the limits of Konaje police station on the outskirts of the city today. 

The victim has been identified as Faheema (3), daughter of  Farooq, a resident of Nadupadavu. 

The mishap occurred when the girl ran towards the road when the car was entering a main road from an inner road.
