Mangalore, March 22: Students are under pressure following the following postponement of the II pre-university physics examination due to the leakage of question paper.

The physics exam was to be held on Thursday. The Department of Pre-University Education is expected to announce the date of the re-examination shortly.

The development came two days after the II?PUC mathematics examination was put off following the reports of paper leak.

“The physics examination has been postponed because the question paper has leaked,” Department of Pre-University Education Director Rashmi V. Mahesh, announced.

She added that the paper leaked in Tumkur. “The police have made arrests across the State in connection with the Maths paper leak,” she said.

Pressure

“My daughter is crying after the unexpected development. She is very weak and unable to cope up with the pressure”, said Swarna, a resident of Balmatta, whose only daughter had planned to begin preparation for CET examination soon after finishing the PU exams.

“If the examinations were postponed suddenly, how can the students prepare for the entrance examinations like CET and AIEEE? Students are suffering for no fault of theirs”, said Anwar Kasbekar, whose son Asif Salman Ahmed is under shock after hearing the news of second paper leakage in two days. “This is the utter carelessness of the PU Department”, said Mr Kasbekar.

Ullal resident Narayan, whose daughter Ayshwarya is appearing for the exams, said: "We came to know about the paper leakage only this morning. My daughter had spent entire reading. Now she is very much tensed. As it is students face a lot of pressure and now they have to go through this."

Another parent, Parimala from Lady Hill, said, "Why can't the authorities take strong action? My daughter was already quite nervous and feared whether the second of questions would be tougher than the one that was earlier framed."
