New timetable for II PU exams announced

Mangalore, March 23: The Department of Pre-university Education has declared the new dates for the II PU exams. The timings of the exam remain the same, from 9 am till 12.15 pm.

Kannada Optional, Statistics, Home Science will be on Saturday, March 24. No exams will be held on March 25 and 26. Physics, Logic and Education subjects will be on March 27. Chemistry and Business Studies will be on March 28, English on March 29. Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam and Arabic exams will be on March 30.

Hindi, Telugu and Sanskrit will be on March 31 morning. In the afternoon, Marathi, Urdu and French will conducted from 2 pm to 5.15 pm.

No exams will be conducted on April 1 and 2. Mathematics will be on April 3.

“Students, parents and principals of colleges should taken note of the changes in the exam time-table,” requested M G Doraiswamy, deputy director for pre-university education.

Bengaluru, Mar 31: The total number of positive cases of coronavirus reached 101 in Karnataka on Tuesday after 13 more positive cases were reported in the state from March 30 5 pm to 2 pm today.

The total number of 101 includes three deaths and 8 discharged/cured cases, Karnataka Health Department stated.

Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus cases in India has risen to 1,397 after 146 new patients were reported in the last 24-hours, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Tuesday.

Of this little less than 1,400 cases, there are 1,238 active while 124 cured. The total figure also includes 35 fatalities.

Udupi, May 4: Udupi Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesha said that mechanised boat fishing will be permitted in Udupi district in another two days.

He further said that the decision was taken after the district was declared as a Green Zone as no fresh cases of COVID-19 were reported from the district in the past several days.

The Deputy Commissioner told the media here that fishing will be permitted but social distancing has to be practised and only 30 boats will be permitted in a day.

Uppinangady, Feb 16: Eleven people were injured, when a private bus in which they were travelling, toppled near Kodikal on Sunday, police said.

According to Police, more than 20 people were travelling in the bus towards Puttur from Sakleshpur when the mishap took place.

All the inmates were on their way to attend a wedding.
