Splash'12' Fest held at Dr. M V Shetty Institute of Technology

Moodbidri, March 27: 'Splash'12', a techno-cultural fest was held at Dr. M V Shetty Institute of Technology, Moodbidri recently.


The Fest was inaugurated by Kishore Alva, Vice President, Udupi Power Corporation Ltd (UPCL).


In his address, he appreciated the efforts of Dr. M Ramgopal Shetty, Founder Secretary, Dr. M V Shetty Memorial Trust, for his contribution in the field of education and cultural events.


Prof. K K Gaffar, Director, Oman Medical Health Education, inaugurated the blood donation drive and stressed on the importance of blood donation, appreciating the students and the organization for their contribution.


Dr. M Ramgopal Shetty, Secretary of MVSIT thanked Mr. Alva and Prof. Gaffar for their presence.


Dr. Divyanjali Shetty, Trustee and Convenor of Splash'12, Dr. UT Ifthikar Ali, Vice Convenor of Splash'12, Dr. Sandeep J Nayak, Principal, MVSIT, Prof. Suresh Kumar, Vice Chairman, Splash'12, were also present.


Arjun of 4th year IS and Shruthi of 4th year EEE compered the programme. Afnan of 4th year CSE welcomed. Sridhar of 4th year ECE delivered the vote of thanks.

Mangaluru, Jan 13: Supporting former state chief minister and JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy who released a "CD on the December 19 Mangaluru violence", Dakshina Kannada party unit president Mohammed Kunhi on Monday demanded a probe into the violence.

Mr Kumaraswamy, who released 35 video clips related to the violence, had demanded the suspension of the Police Commissioner and also sought a house committee to probe the incident.

Addressing media personnel here, Kunhi questioned, "If the police department did not commit any mistake why is the state government looking worried about the CDs released by Kumaraswamy?"

Bengaluru, Jun 25: State-run Kumara Krupa Guest House in the city will be used as 100-bed COVID-19 treatment center for the designated category patients, Karnataka Health Department Sources said here on Thursday.

According to official sources, one wing of the Guest House with 100-bed rooms of individual occupancy having all the facilities is reserved to work as Covid Care Center (CCC) and it will be used for Ministers, MPs, MLAs/MLCs, Senior officers of above Secretary rank for clinical management.

The total number of positive cases reported till date in the State has increased to 10,118, the sources added.

Gokak, Jul 25: A JMFC magistrate here issued summons to the Chief minister B S Yediyurappa in relation to a complaint for the alleged violation of election code of conduct, during by-elections to the Gokak Assembly seat held last year.

According to official sources, a complaint had been registered against Chief minister B S Yediyurappa during the election campaign, under the People Representative Act, for allegedly wooing voters during electioneering.

The Gokak Police, who had investigated the case, however had submitted a 'B' report to the court letting off the Chief minister from the charges.

However the Magistrate, rejecting the Police report, had maintained that there exists prima facie case against the accused and issued summons to appear before the court on September one, the sources added.
