Under-19 and Under-16 cricketers selected for KSCA Academy coaching

Mangalore, April 6: Karnataka State Cricket Association Mangalore Zone has announced the list of Under-19 and Under-16 players selected for the KSCA Academy coaching camps.

The camps are scheduled to be held simultaneously in Mangalore, Manipal, Madikeri and Gonikoppa from April 9.

In Madikeri and Gonikoppa, more players will be selected before the start of the camp, a KSCA spokesperson said.

Many players could not attend the selection trials due to examinations in these areas.

Madikeri, Aug 6: Heavy rainfall triggered landslides at Brahmagiri hills in Talacauvery in Kodagu on Thursday.

Four members of the Talacauvery temple priest family are missing in the landslides informed Annies Kanmani Joy, Kodagu DC.

She also informed that Advanced Rescue Team has been rushed to incident site.

According to the reports, houses belonging to two priest families were destroyed in the incident. 

However, one house was vacant as family had moved to Bhagamandala.

Visuals from Kodagu showed a flood-like situation, with houses and vehicles submerged under rainwater.

Meanwhile, heavy rains continued to lash Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Chikkamagaluru districts on Thursday.

Udupi, Jun 28: The Padubidri police have booked cases against two patients of Novel Coronavirus for not revealing their primary contacts and hiding their travel history.

According to DHO Sudhirchandra Sooda, two siblings from Hejamadi in Padubidri had tested positive for COVID-19 recently. After shifting to the hospital, when the officials asked them about their primary contacts and travel history, the patients furnished false information.

When the officials collected information from various sources, they realised that the duo had travelled to Bantwal, Kasargod, Ullal and other places in Dakshina Kannada, said Dr Sooda. Hence, the district administration decided to file cases against them, he added.

Bengaluru, June 21: Three youngsters lost their lives when an alleged wheeling stunt turned near Jakkur flyover in the city today morning. 

The deceased have been identified as Mohammed Hadi, Ahmed Khan and Syed Riaz, all residents of Nagavara Govindapura.

The tragedy took place at around 6:30 a.m. While two among them died on the spot, the third one breathed his last at a hospital, soruces said.

Yelahanka traffic police have registered a case in this regard.
