Sayyid Madani Trust to start new college in Ullal

Mangalore, April 29: The Ullal Sayyid Muhammad Shareeful Madani Charitable Trust and Sayyid Madani Arabic Educational Trust will jointly start a Dawah College at Ullal for boys from the academic year 2012-13.

The college will impart religious and regular education to meritorious students for a period of seven years, till the time they complete their post-graduation.

US Hamza, president of Ullal Jumma Masjid and Seyydi Madani Darga Committee told media persons here on Saturday that regular education is a must for students of the Muslim community alongside religious education.

Students who have completed their 10th standard will get the opportunity to complete their post-graduation in arts or commerce during their residential stay on the campus and also given training in computers, and spoken English.

The Seyyid Madani Arabic Educational Trust will also start 'Hifzul Quran', Arabic teaching classes for boys, who have passed their fifth standard. Experts in Quran will take classes for students from the next academic year, Hamza said. Students who join the Dawah College will be provided with free boarding and lodging, he said, adding that religious education will be imparted to them after regular instruction hours.

Likewise, BA, BSc, and B.Com degree courses will be started at Hazrath Seyyid Madani Women's College from the forthcoming academic year.

Religious experts will impart lessons on moral and religious education to women students, he said, adding that a period on value education would be made a part of the regular time-table. In addition, PU courses in three streams too would be started at this college for women, Hamza added.

Mysuru, Apr 25: Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has converted one of its buses into a clinic in Mysuru to treat COVID-19 patients.

The mobile fever clinic has a bed for the patient and a cabin for doctor.

There is also a seating facility, medicine box, washing basin, sanitizer, soap oil, a separate water facility and fans.
According to the KSRTC, the cost of this clinic construction on a bus is Rs 50,000.

Meanwhile, 15 new positive cases were reported in the state. So far, 489 COVID-19 positive cases have been confirmed, including 18 deaths and 153 discharges in the state.

New Delhi, Feb 18: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is holding a daylong meeting with 70 columnists from across India on Tuesday in an effort to clear misconceptions about the organisation, sources said.

RSS chief Bhagwat, who last year met representatives of international media organisations posted in India, is expected to deliver a keynote address that will be followed by a free-flowing conversation, they said.

The 70 columnists attending Tuesday's meeting write in different languages.

The meeting, in Chhattarpur in New Delhi, is a closed-door meeting and the proceedings are "strictly confidential", the sources said

Chikkamagaluru, Jun 13: Deputy Commissioner Dr Bagadi Gautham said that movement of heavy vehicles has been banned from Tanikodi to S K Border on NH 169 (Mangaluru to Solapur) from June 15 to August 15.

In an official statement issued here on Friday evening, he said that due to heavy rain lashing in the District the minor bridges on the stretch at Umbalagere, Goravanahalli and Gulaganji are in a dilapidated condition. As a precautionary measure, the movement of heavy vehicles has been banned.

As an alternative, all the vehicles (below 15 tonnes) from Chikmagalur can travel via Baliho Nur-Magundi-Kalasa-Kudremukh-SK Border. The vehicles from NR Pura (below 15 tonnes) should travel via Koppa-Hariharapura-Bidaragodu-Agumbe.
