Final round of 'Soad-3' reality show on May 25

Mangalore, May 14: 'Maand Sobhann' in association with MCC Qatar will hold the final round of 'Soad – 3 International' Konkani TV reality show on May 25 in Doha, Qatar, informed Eric Ozario, Maand Sobhaan Gurkaar.

Addressing media persons at Press Club in Mangalore on Monday, Mr. Ozario said that shooting of the first phase of 'Soad-3 International' had begun in November 2011. Local TV channels like Namma TV and Goa 365 had telecasted the event.

Singers from Mangalore, Goa, and Qatar have participated in the competition. The best six participants (three male singers and three female) will feature in the final round of the show. 'Rani Kogul International' and 'Raay Kogul International' titles would be given to the female and male winner of the competition respectively besides a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh each. All six participants of the final round would be given cash prizes.

Popular musical artistes such as Gurukiran, Tomazinho Cardozo from Goa and Rony D'Cunha from Kuwait will be the judges of the final round, Mr. Ozario said. He added that judges will take into account the overall performance of the participants in various categories such as classical, western, Konkani folk etc.

A team of 21 people consisting of judges, musicians, technicicans, contestants and officials will travel from India to Qatar.

Bengaluru, Jun 8: Normal life is slowly returning to normal across Karnataka with the state government further easing the restrictions by throwing open places of worship, hotels, malls for the public.

Despite these places being opened after a gap of more than two months, the places wore a deserted look as the people are and cautious and not ready to take of risk of venturing out amid the ongoing Corona threat.

"Business is not as heavy as expected though it was allowed after a gap of almost three months. You can see for yourself the crowd, it is not what it should have been in a commercial area like this prior to the imposition of lockdown. However, hope it will improve", a Cloth merchant B Ramesh told UNI when asked for his reaction.

Udupi, Jul 8: A 15-year-old boy belonging to Saligrama in Udupi district, who was under home quarantine with his mother, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself yesterday.

His throat swabs were sent for testing. The report received today and it showed that he did not have coronavirus.
 
The boy, a class ten student studying in Kota, was quarantined along with his mother at home after a person in a family, where she was working as a maid tested positive for Covid-19.

The boy is suspected to have taken the extreme step out of depression as he was not allowed to go out. The last rites were held today.

Belagavi, Apr 12: Karnataka police have filed cases against seven people for hiding their visit to Delhi for attending a religious congregation at Nizamuddin Mosque, last month, police said on Sunday.

The Commissioner office here, in a statement said that Hirebagewadi police filed cases against seven persons including one participant and his family members and Tablighi leader for hiding information regarding participation in the religious meeting 'Tablighi Jamaat ' at Nizamuddin in New Delhi in March.

A youth from the Hirebagewadi village had visited New Delhi and hidden information about his visit and misguiding the Task Force officials when they visited his house. COVID-19 Task Force and Model officials informed the matter to Hirebagewadi police.
