Kasargod, June 8: The police have registered a case against the former Communist Party of India (Marxist) Kannur district unit secretary P Sasi on rape charge.

The case was filed on Thursday under Section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code. The Neeleswaram police filed it following orders from the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court-II, Hosdurg, police sources here said.

The fresh development comes a day after T.P. Mr. Nandakumar filed a similar petition against Mr. Sasi in a court in Kannur on Wednesday.
