Highland Islamic Forum formed for peace and harmony

saleemmalarMangalore, June 21: With the intention of preserving and promoting peace and harmony in the society, a group of activists in the city have formed a new organisation called Highland Islamic Forum.

Apart from working for peace and harmony, the HIF also aims at social service, educational upliftment of the poor and spreading the message of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in the society.

The new office-bearers of the Forum were chosen in a formal meeting held at its office located at Falnir in the city recently.

Mohammed Saleem Malar was unanimously elected as the president of the Forum, while Mohammed Rizwan and Sajid AK were chosen as General Secretary and Treasurer respectively.

It can be recalled here that all these three people were the office bearers of the New Age India Forum, which was dissolved following the allegations of scandals.

Mangaluru, Apr 18: Mangaluru Police have registered a case against two foreign nationals, who were under home quarantine in Kodailbail, for allegedly spitting in the lift of their apartment building on Friday.

The two men, along with three of their roommates, have now been sent to a quarantine facility.

The residents of the residential complex have mentioned in their complaint that they have the CCTV footage of the two spitting in the lift.
Further investigation in the case is underway.

Bengaluru, Feb 26: The Karnataka Pre-University Board issued a five-page booklet on Coronavirus ahead of the forthcoming examination to spread awareness among the students, the Board said on Wednesday.

In a statement, the Board said that the booklet contains details on symptoms of the disease, measures to be taken in case of an outbreak and other information. The Board has directed the Directors in all districts to disseminate the information to students through college principals.

The PUC examination begins from March 4 and continues till March 23.

Mangaluru, Jun 11: Amid rising COVID-19 cases in the district, the officials of Pilikula Zoological Park are also following quarantine policies for animals similar to those for people arriving in the state from other places.

Zoo officials said that these rules apply only for animals that are brought from other locations.

The officials are keeping animals brought in a separate room for one to two months and their health is monitored by expert Doctors. If there are no symptoms of any diseases, the animals will be clubbed with other Zoo animals.
