National Creativity Aptitude Test: Four AIMIT students among top ten in India

Mangalore, June 23: Four students of AIMIT, St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangalore, who participated in the National Creativity Aptitude Test conducted by International Forum for Excellence in Higher Education (IFEHE), Delhi, were placed among the top ten in India.

More than 10,000 students participated in this test conducted nationwide with participants from engineering, management and science streams in institutes of higher education enrolled in graduate and post-graduate courses.

For students in different years of their degree courses there were separate tests in which student's creative thinking and logical reasoning abilities were tested. The test was conducted in two phases. Round 1 was conducted at the college end and from Category 5 (Students of 1st Yr. MBA/M.Sc./MCA/M.Tech) and Category 6 (Students of 2nd Year. BA/M.Sc./MCA/M.Tech).

Four top performing students of St Aloysius Institute of Management and Information Technology(AIMIT) were qualified for the next round of Test.

Round 2 was conducted at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi in which more than 75 colleges participated. Students from St Aloysius Institute of Management and Information Technology (AIMIT) namely Blandina Jyothsna Fernandes from 2nd year MCA Secured 2nd Rank and has received cash prize of Rs. 15,000/- , Prakyath K V from 1st year MCA secured 4th Rank, Randeep B from 2nd year MCA secured 8th Rank and Lakshmeesh Venkatramana Hegde from 1st year M Sc (Software Technology) secured 9th Rank.

These Students have qualified for the Residential IIT Certificate Course of one week at IIT Delhi on Creativity and Innovation.

AIMIT students have been excelling in curricular and extracurricular activities. The training imparted to the MCA, M Sc (Software Technology) and M Sc(Bioinformatics) and MBA of AIMIT gives them an extra edge over others and give them excellent opportunities to be successful in life.

Bengaluru, May 14: Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Former Union Minister and Congress Karnataka MLC, C M Ibrahim has, in a letter to Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, sought permission for the Muslim community to congregate at Idgah grounds and mosques to offer namaz together on the occasion of Id-ul-Fitr later this month.

"The Id-ul-Fitr festival in the state may be celebrated on the 24th or 25th May 2020, during which Muslims have to offer special prayers. On behalf of the entire community. I would suggest that the Government may take a decision by having due consultation with medical experts to grant permission for Muslims on the day of Id to offer prayers in the Idgah maidans or masjids from morning till 1 pm with all precautionary measures and safety norms," the letter states.

"In this regard. I request you to kindly look into the matter and after consulting the medical experts, take a suitable decision enabling Muslims all over the state to offer ld prayers at ldgah Maidans or Masjids in their respective localities," the letter added.

As part of its COVID-19 guidelines, the Ministry of Home Affairs had earlier directed states and Union territories to prevent social gatherings and religious congregations and ensure lockdown measures were strictly followed.

If Mr. Yediyurappa gives permission as reqested by Ibrahim, it will be adisastor for Muslims community, Saudi Arabia imposed , full curfew from 23rd to 30th May, 2020, this is  to avoid Eid gathering and spread of Corona Virus, our community should boycott such so called self declared leader.

 

Any new cases of Covid-19 cases will be blamed as Eid Jihad, request all our like minded people to protest this request.

Mumbai, Apr 15: A 35-year-old man, who worked as a priest in suburban Kandivali, allegedly committed suicide on Tuesday afternoon, hours after learning that lockdown to contain coronavirus has been extended.

The deceased was identified as Krishna Pujari, native of Udupi in Karnataka, who was attached to Durga Mata temple in Iraniwadi area of Sanjay Nagar.

Pujari, who lived with three other priests, was waiting for the lockdown to end as he wanted to go back to his hometown, a police official said.

When he learnt that the lockdown has been extended till May 3, he was terribly depressed and allegedly hanged himself in kitchen, the official added.

No suicide note has been found, he said.

Bengaluru, May 18: With the detection of 99 fresh cases of COVID-19, highest single-day spike, including 24 from Bengaluru Urban district, the total number of persons contracted for the disease in the state has surged to 1,246.

Apart from 24 fresh cases in Bengaluru Urban district, Mandya recorded 17 cases followed by Uttara Kannada (09), Raichur (06), Yadagiri (06), Gadaga (05), Kalaburagi (10), Hassan (04), Koppal (03), Vijayapura (05), Mysuru (01), Belagavi (02), Ballari (01), Udupi (01), Kodagu (01) and Koppal (03).

So far 37 persons had succumbed to the virus in the state.
