Mangalore, June 24: One person is feared dead after he along with five others slipped into a river near Soorinje here on Sunday.
As per preliminary information, a group of six people had gone fishing at River Nandini near Soorinje when they slipped into the waters.
Among them, five were rescued to safety by locals while one is feared dead.
The hunt for the body of Ritesh (18) son of Eshwara, is on.
Surathkal police have visited the spot and are investigating the matter.
Udupi, Jan 22: Udupi district authorities was on high alert following the bomb detected at Mangalore International Airport (MIA).
Udupi railway police said that security had been strengthened in all the railway stations, including Padubudri, Senapur, Barkur, Kundapur and Indrali in the district.
The police in mufti and uniform were on constant beats in the railway stations. Besides, dog squads and bomb detection squads have been deputed in the railways stations, they said.
Bengaluru, Jan 22: Three alleged Bangladeshi nationals living illegally in India were apprehended in Karnataka's Bengaluru district, police said on Wednesday.
The arrested are identified as Mohammed Lokman (55), his wife Jasmin Begun (35) and son Raasel (22) are natives of Boresel village in Pirojpur district in Bangladesh.
According to police, they were staying at a camp at Munnekolala village.
Bhopal, Mar 12: Madhya Pradesh Congress on Thursday alleged that two of its ministers who had gone to Bengaluru to meet the rebel party legislators were assaulted.
"Two of our ministers Jitu Patwari and Lakhan Singh had gone to Bengaluru. They were assaulted, we have info that our ministers have been arrested," Madhya Pradesh Congress leader said during a press conference.
Congress further warned that if the police don't take action, the party will take it to the court.
Some of the rebel MLAs had said in a video on Wednesday that they were in Bengaluru out of their own will.
The rebel MLAs have been staying in Bengaluru over the past few days.
