Udupi, June 26: Former president of Udupi Urban Development Authority Alevoor Nagaraj passed away on Tuesday. He was 65.
Udupi Congress sources said that he died of cardiac arrest.
An active Congressman Nagaraj had also served as the Alevoor Gram Panchayat member.
He was one of the founders of the Sarvajanika Ganeshotsava Samithi in Alevoor. He was unmarried.
Belagavi, Mar 10: Around 6,000 chickens were buried alive by some poultry farm owners here as the rate of flesh in the market dropped even below the cost price due to Coronavirus scare.
The poultry farm who buried the chickens on Monday evening belonged to Lolasuru village in Gokak Taluk of the district.
One of the owners, Nazir Makandar, said that there was no demand for chicken because of threat of Coronavirus.

Mangaluru, May 1: Dakshina Kannada on Friday two more positive cases of coronavirus in the district, taking the total number of cases to 24.
According to the state health bulletin, the 62-year old husband of the 58-year old woman of Boloor who tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, also tested positive for the virus.
Another 69-year old patient hailing from Kasaba in Bantwal Taluk also tested positive for the infection.
Bengaluru, May 17: At least 54 new COVID-19 positive cases have emerged since last evening, raising Karnataka's tally to 1,146, a health official said today.
Among the 1,146 cases, 611 are active and isolated in designated hospitals across the state, 497 patients got discharged and 37 died of the virus.
Of the new cases, Mandya district alone reported 22 cases, followed by 10 in Kalaburgi, 6 in Hassan, 4 in Dharward, 3 each in Kolar and Yadgir, 2 each in Dakshina Kannada and Shivamogga and 1 each in Udupi and Shivamogga.
