Mangalore, June 29: The OneCity Yellow Pages for the year 2012-13, published by OneCity Media Pvt Ltd, was launched on Friday.

D Dharmaiah, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mangalore City Commissionerate, formally released the directory at a press conference at Patrika Bhavan in the city.

L K Monu Borkala and SL Basheer, both directors of the firm were present on the occasion.

The company has been successfully publishing Yellow Pages directories and the latest is the sixth edition for Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.

The directory incorporates several user-friendly features like multi-colour Yellow Pages with information on dining, entertainment, leisure, tourist needs, education, personal finance and insurance, automobiles, real estate, beauty and health etc.

OneCity Yellow Pages contains over 35,000 businesses in different categories. It is user-friendly fast-find index to locate any product or service, said the directors.

OneCity Media will distribute the directories free of cost to all the businesses in Mangalore, Udupi, Puttur and some parts of Kasargod. Also, the directories can be collected from our office, they said.

Bengaluru, Feb 10: A group of women on Monday started a protest against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC), and National Population Register (NPR) here near Bilal Masjid.

Members of the transgender community on Sunday had also taken out a march here to express solidarity with those protesting against CAA, NRC, and NPR.

The newly enacted law is facing stiff opposition across the country with some states including Kerala, West Bengal, Rajasthan and Punjab refusing to implement it. Rajasthan, Kerala, and Punjab have also passed resolutions against the amended citizenship law in their legislative Assemblies.

The CAA grants citizenship to Hindu, Sikh, Jain, Parsi, Buddhist, and Christian refugees from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh, who came to India on or before December 31, 2014.

Mangaluru, Mar 25: A full-fledged control room was set up at the Deputy Commissioner's office in Mangaluru to collect all information about the suspected patients.  

The control room will function under the guidance of KIADB special land acquisition officer.  

All the details on those who arrived from foreign countries via Mangalore Airport, via airports in other districts, primary and secondary contacts of the people who arrived from foreign countries are being compiled at the control room.

Bengaluru, May 6: Karnataka has reported 20 new cases of coronavirus taking total number of cases in the state to 693.

The state health department said in a bulletin on Wednesday that 20 new cases have been confirmed for COVID-19 in the state. "The total number of cases in the state is 693," it said.

The count includes 354 patients who have been discharged and 29 patients who succumbed to the disease.

Out of the remaining cases, 303 patients are in isolation at designated hospitals while six patients are in ICU. The bulletin has also reported one death due to non-COVID cause.

The number of COVID-19 cases in the country reached 49,391, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday morning.

This includes 33,514 active cases and 1,694 deaths due to infection so far.

A total of 14,182 persons have been cured and discharged so far, according to the Health Ministry. One patient has migrated.
