Two Tulu CDs of pad'dana released

Mangalore, July 6: Two Compact Discs on Tulu pad'danas (sung narratives) composed by Bola Chittaranjan Das Shetty, a Tulu writer were released in City on Friday.

M. Sarvotham Anchan, Advocate and vice-president of Karnataka State Lawyers' Guild, released.

Speaking on the occasion, Umanath Kotian, President, Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy said that the proposed Tulu Bhavana will be ready within two years at Urwa Stroes in the city. He said the Bhavana was under construction now.

Mr. Shetty has sung the narratives composed by him in the CDs titled “Sri Madhwaprana Dever and Amar Berere Mamanne” .

Speaking on the CDs, Puttige Padmanabha Rai, a journalist, said they had depicted many aspects of Tulu culture. Mr. Shetty had narrated the aspects in simple language.

Karnaaka govt warns private unaided schools demanding fees on line

Bengaluru, Apr 18: Private unaided schools in the state that were demanding fees from parents in the name of online classes and taking online admissions will face action under Section 3 of the Epidemic Diseases Act 1897, the Karnataka government said.

The Department of Public Instructions has warned school management of action against such educational institutes if they violate the rules. Following complaints from several parents and also from private school management associations, Minister for Primary and Secondary Education S Suresh Kumar discussed the issue with officials from the department during a recent meeting and directed them to initiate action against such academies.

In a guideline issued on Saturday, the department said, "Schools can conduct online classes. But are not permitted to collect the fee from parents until further orders from the department."

Mangaluru | 3-year-old child crushed to death under speeding car

Mangaluru, Jun 29: A three year old child lost its life after being hit by a car at Nadupadavu village under the limits of Konaje police station on the outskirts of the city today.

The victim has been identified as Faheema (3), daughter of Farooq, a resident of Nadupadavu.

The mishap occurred when the girl ran towards the road when the car was entering a main road from an inner road.

CM complements physically challenged Udupi schoolgirl for stitching face masks

Bengaluru, Jun 24: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa was all praise for a sixth standard student from Kallianpur in Udupi district for joining the fight against COVID-19 by stitching Face Masks with one hand for SSLC students writing examination beginning from Thursday.

Mr Yediyurappa took to Twitter and wrote, “Proud of this young COVID warrior Sindhuri. Her smile as she stitches that mask inspires all of us to go beyond our limitation and strengthens us to fight this battle together. God bless you!”

Sindhuri, daughter of Sudhir and Renuka is currently studying in the sixth standard in Mount Rosary school and Bulbul in Scouts and Guides as well.
